It was the first mid-week game of the year but even though the turnout wasn’t that great, we had enough people to start the game with the help of young keeper Elangesh and Atec(guest player). The game started of brightly for the opponents with Malek Awab(opponent) forcing the save out of the young keeper Elangesh. Shufi then had a handful of great chances to put the game to bed, but a bit of bad luck and great goalkeeping kept him out. 15 minutes into the game the opponents had space in the centre of the pitch and took a shot which stunned the goalkeeper as it dipped over him and into the back of the net. They took a 0-1 lead as our keeper stood there helpless. ODS then stepped up our game and produced a few good chances to level the game but the opponents benefited from a corner and took a 0-2 lead as the referee blew for half time. The second by ODS cannot be described by words(but I am going to anyway). It was arguably the best half of football by ODS as first team goalkeeper Kee Yong returned in goal and Atec,Irwin and Liang Han came on. It was 1-2 in a flash as Osman scored a vital to spark a comeback. It was soon the Osman show as he leveled the game in fashion as he neatly slotted the ball past the keeper. It was than predictable that he would get his hat-trick, and he did. A fired up Osman picked up the ball from a neat pass from Shufi and finished it with his right foot into the bottom right corner. He was definitely going be the MOM but 3 wasn’t enough for him. He went one on one with the keeper in which the keeper tripped him(he actually dived) and won the penalty. He stepped up and coolly converted the spot kick to make 4-2. It was than game over in which ODS showed our true fighting spirit and determination and our never-say-die attitude. Final score 4-2.
