ODS started off well against an experienced team boasting some ex-internationals and a seasoned bunch of social players. ODS should have taken the lead but they were let down by some poor finishing from Elango, Osman and their midfielders. This profligacy was soon punished after their right midfielder was able to squeeze a shot into Kumar’s near-post. [0-1]
A good wake-up call indeed for ODS to spring into action. Osman soon calmed ODS nerves’ by slotting the equalizer into the bottom corner after beating their last man and keeper.[1-1]
The rest of the half was full of midfield battles as both team tried to gain control of the middle of the pitch. Soon halftime followed with no more breakthrough.

ODS started with a bang in the second half as Osman managed a double in 10 minutes, first from an accurate Chee Ming cross which beat their sprawling keeper, with only their last man on the goalline, playing ‘hopscotch’ by himself and the second, a cheeky lob after a pinpoint through-ball from Mark Teo. Hattrick completed. [3-1].
Sng added salt and ‘masala spices’ into their wounds when he converted a cross from Cheen Ming with an exquisite right flick into the bottom corner while off-balance.[4-1]Game over….or so we thought.
Ken Wong substituted Osman and soon he was staring at a 4-2 scoreline after the opponents managed a goal from a quickly taken free-kick. They were galvanized, thanks to our shoddy defending and the third goal soon followed after a cross on the right managed to find two unmarked strikers to choose from and one of them duly converted.[4-3], ODS under intense pressure.
In the last corner of the game, ODS was unable to defend the cross and the ball fell to their top striker, who chested but miscued his shot and it fell to his left midfielder who again miscued his shot which went to his teammate who was literally in front of goal. He managed to turn and shoot past Kee Yong from 1 metre as assigned markers Irwin and Kim Chuan were rooted, perhaps from hypnosis. [4-4]
Final whistle ended ODS disappointing performance marred by a calamitous drop in concentration in the last 12 minutes which led to the undeserved comeback from opponents.
