REPORTED BY KEN WONG
Venue: Victoria School
Final Score: 2 - 2
Scorers: Irwin (x01), Matthew (x01); YangSong(missed penalty)
Match Of Match: Wee Kiat
There shall be no official report for this game, as I missed most of the action, and I don't want another complaint for winning 5words for some beautiful goals scored.
And Hairy, the official "reporter" was there. But NO report from him!!!
Perhaps we should "hire" a 3rd "reporter".
Anyway, here are some of the highlights of the match.
1st Half
- Irwin scored in the 1st minute of the game. (This happened too fast, most of us by the sidelines missed that.)
- Irwin was put through on goal. Facing the last man and with Gary on his left, Dennis on his right, Irwin SELFISHLY took a shot that was nowhere near the target.
- Equaliser by opponent, heard it was a cross from their left, followed by an unstoppable volley.
- Matthew, making yet another "guest appearance"?, scored from a free kick. He blasted the ball towards goal, and the ball took a wicked deflection on the way in.
- Gary one on one with keeper, he tried to lob the keeper, but ended up shooting directly at the keeper instead.
2nd Half
- Equaliser by opponent in 2nd half. Kee Yong was caught off his line, and as he was unable to catch hold of the lobbing ball, dropping it behind him in the process of trying to catch it.
- Gary with many options, (3 ODS players against 2 opponents including goalkeeper) attempted a low cross with his left foot, but ball was easily gathered by the keeper.
- Osman did his tricks, a step-over followed by a faint, and that was enough to tempt the opponent to stick out his leg, and Osman tripped over the out-stretched leg to win a penalty for ODS. Yang Song stepped up to take it, but his low tamed shot was easily saved by the keeper.

I have a suggestion for the team just to make our blog more lively and our Sat games more interesting. (Actually, I got this idea from playing those online fantasy football league games) http://fantasy.premierleague.com/M/help.mc?category=scoring
Maybe we should have a points system for the team. So we can update each player getting how many points for that game in each report, and have a total tally for each player in another column. If all is good, maybe we can start this in April 08?
It works like this:
Action Points
For playing in a game - 1
For each goal scored by goalkeeper or defenders - 6
For each goal scored by midfielders - 5
For each goal scored by forwards - 4
For each goal assist - 3
For your goalkeeper / defender conceding 0 goals (must also play at least 60 minutes) - 4
For your midfielder conceding 0 goals (must also play at least 60 minutes) - 1
For every 3 shot saves made by goalkeeper - 1
For every penalty save - 5
For every penalty miss - -2
Bonus points for the best players in a match - 1-3 (3 for Man Of Match, 2 for 2nd best, 1 for 3rd best)
For every 2 goals conceded by your goalkeeper or defenders - -1
For every yellow card - -1
For every red card (includes any yellow card points) - -3
If a player receives a red card, they will continue to be penalised for goals conceded by their team.
Help - Assists
These are awarded to the player from the goal scoring team who makes the last pass before a goal is scored.
If during this pass, an opposing player significantly alters the speed or direction of the ball, then no assist is given except if this intervention directly results in an own goal.
If a goalkeeper does not have control of the ball and parries a shot or drops a cross or the ball rebounds off the woodwork, the attacking player shooting or crossing the ball receives the assist if a goal directly ensues.
In the event of a penalty, the player earning the penalty gets an assist if it is successfully scored, but not if he takes it himself in which case no assist is given. No assist is given for a player who earns a free kick that subsequently results in a goal.
All assists are reviewed within 24 hours of the game finishing.
Help - Bonus points
The three best performing players in each match will receive additional bonus points. Three points will be awarded to the best player, two to the second best and a single point to the third.
Player performance is assessed by Press Association analysts, all of whom are ex-professional footballers, who attend each match. This assessment takes into account the quality of a player's overall performance and their contribution to the match result.
Bonus points are awarded within 1 hour of the last match of the day finishing.
