Final Score 3 : 1
Scorers: Liang Han (x2), Mr Sng (x1)
Man Of Match: Who else but ANIS!!!
The testimonial match for Anis started off with some sort of a comedy, where we had 2opponents, and 2 referees.
But after sorting out the minor hiccups, the match finally kicked off under the cruel rain for the third week in a row.
ODS began the game brightly, stringing passes after passes beautifully, planning to continue where we left off last week, with Anis playing his final game for us, we don't want to lose this. Anis proved just why he was one of our best players for all these seasons, cutting off the opponents' attack and also providing an extra attacking option and support for midfielders and strikers.
It seems like we have not stepped out of first gear when Liang Han scores to give us the lead.
Liang Han proves why he was the top scorer for last season when he got his second goal of the day not long after his first.
His effective running always gives the midfielders extra option.
In one instance, when Ken Wong played a defence splitting pass 2defenders, and Liang Han muscled off his marker, and back-heel the ball to Osman, who placed the ball to the keeper’s bottom left. That clearly should have been a goal, but somehow, the keeper managed to do a acrobatic save and got his fingertips to it, denying Osman a “what could have been a strong nomination for goal of the season”.
But the visitors proved they don’t come all the way to lose without putting up a fight. They replied in style when a low cross from their left winger beat on-rushing keeper Kumar, and their strikers somehow managed to squeeze through our no-nonsense men, Mark Penu and Ros, and tapped the ball into an empty net.
Immediately after the game was restarted, ODS lost the ball in midfield, and the opponents took advantage of that. With a long range shot, our keeper was beaten once again, but this time, we have the crossbar to thank for saving us.
In what proved to be a highly competitive first half, we have lost 2 of our best players to injuries, Wee Kiat got a knock on his knee, and Osman pulled his hamstring.
After some tactical changes during half time, the game restarted and ODS was clearly in control. With Mr Sng and Liang Han leading the attack, we know for sure, there’s gonna be a third goal for ODS.
And both of them had chances to showcase their magic feet, Liang Han doing a pass to Gary , a total NO-LOOK… He did it as if he has eyes on his back.
Anis then made his exit after what seemed to be a strain forced him off the field, thus bringing down the curtains on his illustrious career with ODS. He left the field with some "standing ovation" from his fans...
Mr Sng proved he is still a force to be reckoned with. Twisting and turning, and beating defenders, he was unfortunate not to have scored more on this occasion.
But his goal came still. When he received a pass on the edge of the box, the supporters were screaming at the top of their voice, “ZIDANE!!! ZIDANE!!!” and not letting his fans down, Mr Sng lobbed the ball over the keeper, (I must stress that this keeper is darn tall, at least 1.85m… and it seems almost impossible to lob him as he was still within his own six yards.) and the ball sailed into the top left corner.
With ODS in the driving seat again, we were contented with defending.
And the score stays that way.
3-1.
With this, and on behalf of ODS, we wish Anis and his family all the best for his new adventure in Perth. And for sure, we are going to miss this one hella guy.
To Anis, please do keep track of this blog, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
And on behalf of Osman, there was some request to keep track of assists, so we can have the most assists award for this year too... Without the assists, strikers may not score that much goal... Right Osman???
Cheers...

Liang Han suggested the injury list. The list of injured players are those he updated me during our wine appreciation session ahahhaa... Mr K.W, why would Liang Han still have to muscled off his marker if the pass was defence splitting??
Mr H, you should have been there to witness that pass...
Liang Han called for the ball to be played where he wanted it to... n i did so... pinpoint precision, perfectly timed and correctly measured in terms of strength too...
but his marker was good... stuck to him like a leech... but Liang Han was better... he got to the ball first...
but still, this pass was only second to Liang Han's total NO LOOK pass...
aside to Mr I, that's what I would call a NO LOOK PASS...
haha...
Mr K.W.
