2008 1st Game - NIE

Our first game for 2008. The first goal of this season went to Kim Chuan who got himself into a free position down the left before putting the ball in between the small opening between the near post and the keeper.

Second goal went to Wee Keat who's header went in at the far post from a resulting corner. Score was now at 2-0

At this point, our team looked set to be in control of the game. Though the last pass seems always to be quite missing from the move. One example was Liang Han making good runs from deep towards left and with 2-3 of our players in the 6 yards box, his attempted cross ended behind the byeline.

We also had Elango missing an easy tap-in after a good low cross across the goal mouth from Osman had both the defence and keeper beaten.

A lapse in our defence gave the opponent with an easy tap in when no one was marking a player at the far post(2-1).

A throw in to Wee Keat from the right who went past 2 defenders and make a good pass over the defence to Osman at the far left. Under close guard of a defender, he not only kept the ball under control, he also had time to lure keeper into committing the save and end up rounding the keeper and scoring into an empty net.

Wee Keat has a run starting after center circle and got between 2 defenders and ultimately putting the ball pass the right side of the out-coming keeper. At 4-1, our first game should be securely our first win of the season.

A long ball from Gary to Sng, who held the ball long enough and subsequently making a perfectly timed-pass to Liang Han who ran from deep (he said he ran about 60 metres but i didn't count) and score from his sidefoot.

Another long ball from Ros to Osman who sidefoot the ball into with only the keeper to beat.

I know that there's not much mention (if any at all)of the MOM - hence i was shocked hahaha when told by Mr Sng :P *kidding*
Mr Ken Wong, i can't remember much of your action also - though i heard about a pass from you to either Sng or Gary who was ruled offside wrongly.
