As i was cruising in thru the carpark, i see a lot of RAV4s... today's opponent. The game started well for us, with our team mounting a few good attacks to them but to no avail. A giveaway ball on the right flank gave the opponent a clear path down the right side. In came a cross, and the attempt to clear the ball (perhaps) by Mark Penu was fatal - as in it was deflected into a own goal.
That however seem to push us up a gear, with Wakil finding the net from just outside the box. We continue to pressure them, with Elango failing to make the best from a Kim Chuan cross from the left and missing what appears ought-to-be a simple tap in goal but only to find it high (if it's not 1 inch and less, it high) over the bar.
This almost same scenario de-javu at later stage in 1st half from courteousy of Liang Han (which fail to take his goal tally to 7! coincidentally, i was "ask" by Gary Ong to keep a better records of our goals tally as Liang Han tally wasn't updated to the correct one)
Just before half time, a pass from the left back down to Elango who found himself some space, went closer to the byeline and delivering a good cross, which was met by Vincent feet. The intention to score was there, even though the connection wasn't the best, somehow the ball floated into the left top corner over the keeper reach.
The second half started with RAV4 team looking more and more dangerous. Before long, a sucker punch was delivered and the game was levelled again. This appears to give RAV4 team a morale booster and they were continuing to be the more dangerous side. Our team had a few break down both left and right flank only for the final ball to go awry.
A corner kick by Wakil found Mark Penu diving header missing the goal post just a bit.
A well-executed dummy by Sng saw Liang Han almost through and his attempted shot was on target but soft and easily caught by the keeper.
Another break on the right saw Aidil performing a 1-2 with Sng, though from the sideline, it appears that Aidil was slightly offside (he has a knack for getting himself offside) but no whistle was blown and a cross was delivered to 2 predators on our team waiting to pound on it. Mark Penu met the cross and score this which later turned out to be the winning goal.

Quotes during post game coffee talk session
Mr O: Mat, you looked slightly offside for that cross...
Aidil: I was too fast...

Somehow it floated! Hey...a goal is a goal. If Sasikumar can claim a goal off his backside, then mine was well met with a half volley and a topspin into the top left hand corner. Heh heh...give me time to pray for it to go in.
