REPORTED BY Ken Wong
Full Time: ODS 3 - 0 OCBC (Half time: 3 - 0)
Scorers: Liang Han x3
Man Of Match: Liang Han???

OCBC looked a much stronger team with some new signings, some "league players".

But still, they had no answer to Liang Han, ODS main octupus for many years.

Liang Han opened the scoring after Faisal floated a ball over the defence.

Liang Han latched onto the bouncing ball and lobbed the keeper.

1-0

His second goal was provided by Cheen Ming who drilled a low ball across goal for Liang Han to tap in from close range.

2-0

His third goal was beautifully set up by Ken Wong, who after winning the ball near the half way line, skipped past the challenges of two opponents, and brilliantly rolled the ball through two defenders into Liang Han's path. Liang Han calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner for his hat-trick.

3-0

The talk of the town however, was his miss when he chose to use his breast chest to direct the ball towards goal instead of using his head which would be a much better choice.

Attached at the bottom this entry is how his goal would look like if he had chosen to use his head instead of his erm... chest.

Game was ended briefly after the restart due to bad weather.

With that, Liang Han is now the first name on Osman's team list, overtaking Tony, in just a week.
Osman the "tinkerer", or is it due to the lack of "Monte Cristo"?

No stars, but still a star-studded performance

REPORTED BY Ken Wong

Man Of Match: Liang Han

Starting Line-Up GK: Kee Yong

Striker: Liang Han, Faisal
No stars, no issue.
ODS still gets the job done, through sheer class, determination and hard work.

Cheen Ming and Leonard may have to be contended with a spot on the bench when they return next week.

Opponents were asking if our speedy winger is coming today, if I'm not wrong, they were referring to Cheen Ming, but they failed to realise, we have got other plans prepared.

ODS started the game with 11players on the pitch and none on the bench.
But not long into the game, Osman had to be taken off because of his old injury.
Thankfully, Aidil chose today to return to action. And he took over Osman on the left midfield.

Both sides were playing cautiously, not daring to be over adventurous for fear of leaving too much gap at the back.
Osman later described the first 60minutes of the game as a typical Italian Serie A football match in the 80s, with both teams playing very disciplined football with fear of making mistakes.

The opponents were wasteful in their finishing, shooting wide on a few occasions.
On chances that they did manage to put on target, Kee Yong proved to be still the reliable man in between the sticks, pulling off fine saves after fine saves to deny the visitors.
Over at the other end, the keeper was hardly tested.
Liang Han did have 2 chances, the first, after a brillant flick-on by Ken Wong.
Ken Wong returned to action today after a chest injury, and determined to prove his worth to the team, was pushed up to support the attack. Faisal sent a cross forward to Ken Wong who had his back facing the goal. Ken Wong then cleverly flicked the ball to his left into Liang Han's path, and Liang Han was unfortunate to shoot into the side netting.

His next chance was when he robbed the ball off the defender after a poor goal kick, but his effort was directed straight at the keeper.

Matthew had a near miss as well, trying to connect with a Faisal's free kick, but his header was inches wide off the far post.

Towards the end of the first half, Ken Wong launched a counter attack after picking up a loose ball in midfield. He found Aidil on the left, but the final cross was disappointing as Liang Han, Ken Wong and Faisal were racing into the box, expecting the cross to come in.

That pretty much sums up the first half.

Second half, we saw the debut of Fhirhad in left midfield.

And we found a new partnership, one that might be even more dangerous with the usual Elango-Liang Han strike partnership.

With Liang Han spearheading the attack and Faisal support the attack, there seems to be more action in front of goal.
Or perhaps, it's because Faisal's wife is here to watch him for the first time, and Faisal is extra hardworking today.

Just as the game appears to be settling for a 0-0 draw, Liang Han's quick thinking and his quick feet won the ball after a poor back pass from the defenders. He rounded the keeper, and calmly slot the ball into goal.
The celebraion was wild and everyone was delighted at the goal.

1-0

And if you thought that goal was good, Faisal's goal was even better. He won the ball from midfield, skipped past a few challenges, and spotted the keeper off the line, His 40yards effort caught the keeper by surprise and the ball sailed neatly over the keeper into the goal. Simply world class.

2-0

Victory was secured, almost, but not without a scare.
There was a weak call for penalty as Mark Penu appeared to have handled the ball just inside the box.
The opponents pulled one goal back from the spot and game was on again.

2-1

But ODS's class was too much for the opponents to handle, Liang Han alone was more than a "handful".
He evaded the challenge of the first defender and waited for the second challenge to come in as he was then tripped. He fell "heavily" and a penalty was awarded to ODS.
Mark Teo stepped up and his composure ensured his coolly taken penalty went in.
Once again, Gary was not around to learn the "art of penalty taking".

3-1

But the game is not over yet, ODS was punished for some slack marking and the opponent pulled another one back.

3-2

ODS had a late scare when Kee Yong spilled a low shot. It had appeared to be a routine save but he failed to gather the ball, as the ball roll through his hands and in between his legs. Everyone held their breath as the ball rolled slowly past the far post.
PHEW!!!

Ken Wong then came back in for Mark Teo, and together with Liang Han, their immerse pressure up front limited the opponent time and space to pick up their own players or even to deliver decent crosses.
Full time whistle went out and ODS came out on top, despite missing some "stars".

After the game, Osman commented, "if I ever have to name the line-up, Tony will always be the first name I think of, and he will always be the first person I name into the starting 11, followed by Liang Han."

team effort!!!

Full Time: ODS 4 - 2 MOE II(Half time: 1 - 1)
Scorers: Cheen Ming(x01), Leonard(x01), Shufi(x02)
Man Of Match: Shufi
Yellow Card: Leonard, Hairy

--
Starting Line-Up GK: Kee Yong
Def[L-R]: Hairy, Mark Penu, Zam, Irwin
Mid[L-R]: Cheen Ming, Mark Teo, Faizal, Shufi
Striker: Elango, Leonard

Missing few key players, not sure where they go. We came to face with a young MOE team.

First half we did not push up the line enough, as such the opponents had time to pick their players. Wing play seem danger but no real threat (yet).

Cheen Ming again showing his speediness against younger player and got a great goal after beating a man and sending the ball into the right corner. [1-0]

MOE II kept pressing and was rewarded when the ball somehow went under Kee Yong's body and roll so slowly over the line although there was a suspicion of off side. [1-1]

2nd Half Line-Up GK: Kee Yong
Def[L-R]: Hairy, Mark Penu, Zam, Irwin
Mid[L-R]: Cheen Ming, Gary Ong, Faizal, Shufi
Striker: Sng, Leonard

Shortly into the second half, Leonard got our 2nd goal [2-1] and then Shufi tapping in from a cross to extend our lead to 3-1

Sng was challenging the defenders, Faizal was covering the defence well. Elango , Leonard all came back to help out with the increasing tiring defence.

Kee Yong has another good save but we still conceded the 2nd goal [3-2].

MOE II then got free again from the right, only for the striker to strike the ball into the side netting.

Hairy then got his yellow card for handball and kicking the ball away.

Faizal then release a nice through ball to Shufi down the right and the MOM score with a nice strike across the goal mouth into the left bottom corner. [4-2]

The final whistle went off and a good display of team effort to secure the victory!

PS: Gary said he agreed with what Ken Wong has posted on our facebook page about his absence! LOLx...

Starting Line-Up GK: Kee Yong
Def[L-R]: Hairy, Kiran, Rosk, Tony
Mid[L-R]: Osman, Leonard, Mark Teo, Cheen Ming
Striker: Liang Han, Elango

Today game we have 2 players with hat trick. Osman and Cheen Ming.

Slow start to the game and ODS went a goal behind when Kee Yong hesitated to come out and collect a ball and the striker was able to leech and put the ball into open net. [0-1]

According to the ref, it took ODS 7 seconds to equalizer when a quick attack saw Liang Han showing us his might and level the game for ODS [1-1]

This was the curtain raiser for us. Suddenly our midfield came alive... sending waves after waves of attacks! Leonard, Mark Teo doing their part to harass and not giving the opponents opportunity to breath... defence of Kiran, Rosk supporting both the central midfielder. Tony as usual doing his part of good defending..

Soon Osman collected a ball and was through on goal and put the ball pass the keeper at the near post. [2-1]

Elango followed shortly when he tap in from close range from Osman cross [3-1]

Cheen Ming ever showing his pace then score [4-1]

Osman then lay the ball back to Hairy who score from near the edge of the penalty box with a nice powerful low drive. [5-1]

Rosk then make a timely interception and dribble past a player and was through on goal only to be brought down by the keeper and the ref subsequently awarded us the penalty or so we thought. Mr Sng was still asking Rosk to take it from the sideline , but Rosk declined.

Just behalf halftime, Osman had his second goal and increase our lead further.[6-1]

Note: The order may not be correct :P

2nd Half Line-Up GK: Tony
Def[L-R]: Hairy, Mattew, Zam, Ken Wong
Mid[L-R]: Osman, Leonard, Gary Ong, Shufi
Striker: Kee Yong, Cheen Ming

Start of the second half, ODS seemed to down one gear and was punished soon when the opponent get their 2nd goal. [6-2]

This again prompted ODS to respond, with both Osman, Cheen Ming getting their hat trick in the 2nd half. [7-2], [8-2], [9-2]

Hairy put Kee Yong clear on goal, Kee Yong unleash a beautiful thundering shot that appear goalbound after beating the keeper but was denied by the crossbar.

The opponent soon got another goal back [9-3]

Osman got his fourth with a header from a corner [10-3]

Opponent get another consolation goal [10-4]. I guess the new pairing central defence of Mattew and Zam needs more playing time. At the same time of this game, Mattew got himself injure again(abit like Diaby now...) and Mark Teo came in to replace him.

Elango was put through by Hairy but this time his first touch let him down..

Osman's replacement Liang Han got his 2nd and our 11th goal.[11-4]

Man Of Match: Cheen Ming
Yellow Card: Osman

--
In this fierce encounter, actions were at both ends of the pitch.
But more notably, were the highlights, for miss of the season and how to take a penalty.

Osman put himself into contention with "ugliest miss of the season" when he sent the ball flying over the crossbar from six yards out, and with goalkeeper stranded on the ground.
He kicked out at the post in frustration.

He made amendment soon when he worked his way into the penalty box before being hacked down.
He scored the subsequent penalty, only pity was, Gary Ong was not around to witness the proper way to take a penalty.

1-0

Cheen Ming scored the second goal with a dazzling set of dribbling skills.

2-0

The opponents pulled 2 goals back and levelled themselves.

2-2

Osman managed to put ODS into the driving seat once again just before half time.

3-2

Half Time

Shortly after half time, We Keat pulled his muscles and his contribution to this game came to an end.

Cheen Ming then set Liang Han up to score ODS 4th goal.

4-2

Mark Penu hammered the final nail to end all hopes of any revival for the opponents.
Cheen Ming, once again, was the provider.

Laboured Draw

REPORTED BY Ken Wong
Full Time: ODS 3 - 3 Medical Team (Half time: 2 - 1)
Scorers: Leonard x2, Osman
Man Of Match: Leonard

--
The game started brightly with plenty of actions in midfield.

ODS was the dominant force but were unable to convert many of their chances.

The break through came when Leonard scored from what seemed to be a cross initially.
Keeper tried to tip the ball over the crossbar but was unsuccessful.

1-0

A mixed up in defence allowed the visitors to equalise.
Melvin failed to clear the ball during a corner, expecting the keeper to pick up the ball. But the opponent was quick to pounce on the loose ball and smashed the ball into the goal from close range.

1-1

Osman got his 36th goal of the season with some solo effort, and the visitors were simply amazed at his skills and stood there, feeling helpless as he put ODS back into the lead again.
Strangely though, Osman has only won the Man of Match once this season despite being the team top scorer currently with 36 goals.

2-1

The game turned ugly when an opponent was sent off for using abusive language at the referee.

Half Time

Yet another mixed up in defence, this time between Hairy and Kee Yong allowed the oppponents to score in yet another corner.

2-2

As ODS pressed on for a winner, the opponents scored through a counter-attack.

2-3

As the clock ticks away by the minute, ODS seemed destined to lose this game.
Tan Cheen Ming turned on his magic and raced away with the ball.
He drilled the ball across the goal mouth, and Leonard slided in at the far post, connecting with the ball to score the equaliser.

3-3

Despite so many signings for Liverpool, who they really should have signed are with ODS, Leonard and Tan Cheen Ming.

Sorry Osman, no space for you in Everton as they already have a Osman there, and more importantly, they have Fellaini!!!

Striker: Liang Han, Ken Wong
ODS started the game with very fierce intensity.
Ken Wong playing like Torres, chasing every ball in the opponent' half, with Liang Han covering the gaps, Osman, Cheen Ming and Shufi picking up the loose balls.
The first game came very quickly, Liang Han holding up the ball, passing it back to Osman who released Cheen Ming with a precise through-ball.
Cheen Ming scored with a clinical finish to put ODS ahead.

1-0

ODS maintained the tempo and the opponents felt suffocated, almost struggling to play the ball out of their own half.
Soon enough, ODS got their second goal, after some calm and composed finish by Osman.
His initial shot was blocked by the keeper, but he took the rebound so calmly, and with a dedicate touch, he gently lifted the ball over the keeper into goal.

2-0

Opponents were star-struck. But before they can reply, ODS banged in a third goal.
Liang Han was racing towards goal, but was held back by a defender, as a result, his subsequent shot was straight at the keeper.
Keeper blocked the shot, but Ken Wong (running everywhere like Torres) was there to pick up the rebound.
Ken Wong turned around to face the goal but was blocked by a defender.
He bent the ball like Beckham, around the defender to the far post and picked out Cheen Ming with a perfect cross.
Cheen Ming hammered the ball into goal with a powerful header.

3-0

Irwin failed to clear a ball when he had the chance to. Instead, he chose to play a pass back to the last man. However, he miss-hit his pass and it became a through-ball for the opponent striker.
The striker took the chance and scored.

3-1

Osman nearly added a second to his name, from an indirect free-kick inside the box after the keeper picked up a back pass.
The ball was laid to him and Osman struck with such force. It almost seem like the ball was going in, but the keeper somehow managed to deflect it onto the crossbar and out for a corner.

Just before half time, ODS then conceded a needless penalty after Tony pushed the striker on the back.
Tony was cautioned for his foul.
The opponents converted from the penalty to pull one back.

3-2

Tackles started flying from everwhere and Osman was at the receiving end of one of them.
He was taken off with a bruise to his forehead.
Half Time

2nd Half Line-Up GK: Kee Yong
Def[L-R]: Hairy, Chee Mun, Rosk, Tony
Mid[L-R]: Cheen Ming, Mark Penu, Aidil, Shufi
Striker: Melvin, Liang Han
Both sides restarted very defensively and played in very compact style.
Both sides struggled to find the break through.
It was left to Shufi eventually. He received a ball from the left, and he finally got his shot on target to score his first ever goal for ODS.

4-2

Safe-hands Kee Yong was forced to face his krytonite and he was beaten by it yet again.
A seemingly harmless attempt from far, Kee Yong had his eyes on the ball and was following the flight of it. But somehow, he missed the ball at the most crucial moment and allowed the ball to drop over his head into the net.

4-3

Opponents felt really encouraged and motivated.
Finally, they got the equaliser.
The striker met the cross at the near post to head in the ball.

4-4

A frustrating game, and Hairy was shown the yellow card towards the end for pulling back an opponent.
Melvin also had to taken out after a tackle, and he pulled his hamstring in the process.

Full Time: ODS 3 - 4 Green Team(Half time: 2 - 2)
Scorers: Cheen Ming (x02), Faizal (x01)
Man Of Match: -

Today game was enjoyable in a funny way. Ken Wong presence was not felt in this game and after going through 2-3 weeks with no toad treat and beer from teammates, it appears he was going downhill from the start of the game. The first goal was due to him not able to head the ball (Ken say "got sun in his eyes!!") and the winger was able to get free ...and it resulted in us conceding our 1st goal. [0-1] Throughout the first half, he continued to make such mistakes for couple more times.. Before long, Cheen Ming equalized for ODS [1-1]. Before we could settle down enough, a good through ball from opponent and beating Kiren's offside trap, striker calmly put the ball into the net with only Aidil to beat. They had another chance when Aidil did not collect a ball confidently, but somehow we were let off this time. Faizal then lob a ball from somewhere near the halfway line to put us back on level terms [2-2]. -- Forget how to concede our 3rd goal ...[2-3]. Not long later, Ken Wong replace Aidl as a GK. He did some glimpses of promises but as usual promises are meant to be broken. He collected a ball and wanted to do a quick counter-attack via Osman by throwing the ball towards Osman, only for it to be thrown no more than a metre. It hit the opponent heads and subsequently it was a counter-counterattack orchestrated by Ken Wong, but on the wrong end. The opponent lob the ball past Ken and 2 more players into the top corner. [2-4]. Kiren then moved upwards to try to add more bite to our attacks. Cheen Ming then score from outside the penalty box with a well driven low shot to lift some of our fading hopes. [3-4] The scoreline remains the same until the final whistle. Ken Wong continued to say, today he had a bad game... We be having a one week break on 26th May 2012 and the next match will be back on 2nd June 2012.

Man Of Match: Cheen Ming

Starting Line-Up GK: Kee Yong
Def[L-R]: Irwin, Hairy, Rosk, Tony
Mid[L-R]: Osman, We Keat, Mark Teo, Cheen Ming
Striker: Elango, Liang Han
Cheen Ming score twice even though he was still recovering. [2-0] We however conceded one before halftime as a break from the opponent down the right flank. Tony couldn't do much as there was just too many players on his side then... [2-1]
Starting Line-Up GK: Kee Yong
Def[L-R]: Irwin, Chen Mun, Rosk, Aidil
Mid[L-R]: Osman, We Keat, Mark Teo, Leonard
Striker: Sng, Liang Han
The striker from the opponent scored a brilliant low shot from the left outside of the penalty box. It was fast and curled by Kee Yong for their equalizer. [2-2]
Liang Han then scored to bring ODS back into the lead. [3-2] An appeal for a push (clear foul) on Rosk from ODS was rejected by the ref and the opponents leveled again. [3-3]
Liang Han gave us the slender lead soon at [4-3]. Still the a very close fight.
Mark Teo was soon replaced by Cheen Ming and Hairy for Irwin.
Mr Sng then claimed he made a very good substitution.. not anyone from the above but by substituting himself out and Elango in. Elango then soon score with a "semi" volley from a corner after a header came off the goal post which probably sealed off the game[5-3] At the end of the game, Liang Han had to mention that again this time he also help block the GK.
Osman then net our sixth goal to ensure the win is all but confirmed. [6-3]
