Leonard makes his statement

REPORTED BY Ken Wong
Full Time: ODS 7 - 1 Singapore Chinese FC (Half time: 2 - 0)
Scorers: Vincent, Osman, Liang Han, Leonard (x3), Gary
Man Of Match: Leonard

--
Starting Line-Up GK: Kee Yong
Def[L-R]: Tony, Kiran, Rosk, Ken Wong
Mid[L-R]: Osman, Mark Penu, Mark Teo, Cheen Ming
Striker: Elango, Vincent

With 21 players available on this day, choosing the first eleven was no easy task.
Perhaps, only Tony might say that ODS started with the strongest defence possible with him in the line-up.

ODS wasted plenty of chances to seal the game early on. No names shall be mentioned, and we're not going to blame the Panther or Andy Carroll for missing.
Kee Yong pulled off fantastic saves to deny the visitors.

Finally, with some display of great team work, Cheen Ming blazed his way down the left and squared the ball back into the six yard box for Vincent, and surely, he's not going to miss from that distance.

1-0

Next, Osman scored.
Watch the video replay for his goal. (According to Osman, his goal is somewhat similar to this)

2-0

Tony, arguably the best defender still around in business, (and in case you have no idea, he claims to have an office in Geylang), made some last ditch tackle, stealing the ball from under the striker's balls in the nick of time to keep a clean sheet for the first half.

Half Time

2nd Half Line-Up GK: Kee Yong
Def[L-R]: Hairy, Yang Song, Melvin, Chee Mun
Mid[L-R]: Irwin, We Keat, Faisal, Leonard
Striker: Liang Han, Gary

Second half saw an entirely different team except for the keeper Kee Yong.

ODS struggled initially. And with so many talented players in the field, it's just a matter of time before the goals start flowing in.

Liang Han, such a lethal striker when he's on form, raced for every ball despite his petite size. Even though his mind was not exactly on the game, in fact he was more concerned about waiting for a phone call from Catherine, (or was it Jessica or Susan), but anyway, he was the one who started it all.
His shot left the keeper gasping for air and his goal sparked a wild celebration on the touchline, with Osman and Tony leading some weird yet funky dance moves.

3-0

Contented with his performance, he made his way for Cheen Ming, for the Liverpool fan connection, I mean the SOTA power.

The opponents had some false hope after pulling back one goal when Kee Yong, perhaps his only mistake of the entire game, was poorly positioned and was beaten at his near post.

3-1

Cheen Ming would once again dance his way down the left, and cut the ball back for Leonard, the newly-wed who is back with a point to prove - that NOT all newly-wed guys play football with jelly-legs. Leonard unleashed a first time volley and the ball beat the keeper at the near post.

4-1

Leonard stole the show again with this goal.

5-1

The SOTA connection strikes again, Cheen Ming the provider from a corner, Leonard completing his hat-trick with a header at the far post.

6-1

Gary completed the rout, turning his marker inside the box and placed a low shot just inside of the post.

7-1

I think some TEAM members are getting more and more delusioned with their own abilities and akin themselves to certain BPL stars. They seem to think their performance is faultless and flawless. They become so critical of other members' play while ignoring their own mistakes, poor passing, shooting, defending, distribution or communication. They are quick to condemn and slow to encourage. EvenTorres struggles to find his form and misses chance after chance. Not to name names but such behavior does not promote team spirit but disunity in the team. No one is claiming professional status here. Just near 50 or bunch of veterans trying to enjoy the company and the beautiful game of football. Just my 5 cents worth of sincere thoughts and not meant to offend anyone. :-)

Well said. I somewhat, also agree with your comments. Certainly, as a player, if you can say this, then I think going forward, the team will just dis-integrate if we don't put a stop to all this bickering on the field. Let's nip this in the bud.

Excellent report! Keep it coming! But I hope you realise that Leonard is a die-hard Liverpool fan. His Liverpool tatto on his back/front is a tell-tale sign. So I dont think he will be happy to score like Modric AGAINST Liverpool! Hahaha!
