The team which likes to take a shot at the kick off re-use the same tactic and Kumar was prepared for it, but the try was on target in terms of distance but not accuracy.
Today another new central pair up, Rosk with Yang Song, supported by Ken and Hairy at the sides. The new partnership looks stable with Yang Song settling well, collecting, distributing and switching the ball with relative ease. Ken had his hand full on the difficult job of marking a very speedy and pretty skillful wing opponent.
Irwin was a bit lethargic on this occasion and halfway through the half, switched position with Hairy although there was not much erm booster effect. On the right, Kee Yong looks to have followed Hairy's advice on following Ken Wong's right midfield style (hahaa) although he does track back more often.
Liang Han was causing quite a fair bit of problems for the defenders with his usual skills, though effective, there was no end result although he had a few tries on goal but not on target. Those on target were relatively soft.
Elango had a few touches but was somewhat not able to get into today's game perhaps due to Hairy's earlier "color" comments. (Dont take it to heart ya?? - i was just joking :P)
The opponents were speedy and were consistent in their passes with good supports from all players - this is what ODS should be playing again, not rushing and losing balls unnecessary through bad passing. Although most of the time they were limited to shots from outside the box which rarely threatens our GK Kumar.
A lapse of concentration or perhaps more likely complacency saw ODS conceding the only goal from a corner which up to this point of time was quite against the flow of play...
A quick short corner taken on the left and the resulting cross that came in found the head of the striker and a bit of hand from Yang Song(he said this during half time) towards goal. At this point of time, there were only 3 other blue players in the box excluding our keeper. Hairy, Ken at the post and Rosk. The midfielders were seen sticking to their positions around the mid field area (pun intended), Mark Penu were slightly closer to the "D" though ...
As the cross came in so quickly, Hairy who were closer to the near post just turned around and was "amazed" to see the cross came in so fast, as the ball was headed downwards toward him and he attempted to clear with his pretty much non-existent right foot, all he could kick was the air as the ball bounced of the ground and "harmlessly" over his right foot but into ODS's net. [0-1]
Although ODS tried to made amends after this, we never managed to find the net.
2nd Half Line-Up
GK: Kee Yong
Def[L-R]: Hairy, Rosk, Kiren, Chee Mun
Mid[L-R]: Kim Chuan, Mark Penu, Vincent, Aidil
Striker: Liang Han, Sng
GK: Kee Yong
Def[L-R]: Hairy, Rosk, Kiren, Chee Mun
Mid[L-R]: Kim Chuan, Mark Penu, Vincent, Aidil
Striker: Liang Han, Sng
ODS head into the 2nd half with much more urgency. Kiren at this usual speedy self. Chee Mun still experiencing some discomfort of the injury he sustained from the previous previous game (against
Kim Chuan was so speedy and giving so much problems with his runs at their right back that Nus Medical Team had to move their very speedy 1st-half-give-ken-problem-winger who was playing initial on the left defence to their right. At this point of time, it was highly speculative that they are trying hard to keep their 1 goal lead and relay heavily on counter-attacks - and their support for the lone striker were very good.
Vincent standing at 1.9m? or 1.8++++m appeared to have a more commanding presence in the center of the park, although he had to be replaced 2/3 into the game when a strong challenge on his ankle caused some point of concern.
Aidil now was giving the left-turned-right back some problems with his run although most of his crosses came to a naught..
This time, Sng though playing well with his neat passes never really managed to threaten to score as there was not much good final ball to him. The 1st closer (cos we had a closest chance coming up later) chance fell to Liang Han he half volleyed a ball from the right, but the ball was always rising and spinning away from goal. He continued to have a few chances including one or two (i can't really remember) one on one situation but his indecisiveness often proved "lethal" (not in terms of finishing but damaging for ODS to find our equalizer)
But the real closest opportunity fell to Aidil with the cross from Liang Han this time. Aidil perhaps was too engrossed in finding the perfect G-spot to score his goal, not realizing time was no so much in his favor. In the end, he had to take an extra touch which ended up nearer to the bye line then the post and eventually a golden chance that bore no result.
Both side never really threaten after this although Rosk had to make a couple of well-timed tackles which otherwise could have given the opponents some chances to extend their lead.
Sng should substitute himself out, followed by Hairy and there was a lot shifting and i can't really recall how those movements were exactly. The scoreline remained the same at the final whistle, receiving our 2nd defeat at such early stage of the season. Side note, this is also our 1st loss to this team since ODS started collecting our game statistic.

Mr Sng had a fantastic free kick from the left side of the penalty area that the keeper had to palm out...
