First third, ODS was extremely wasteful in front of goal. Kee Yong barely had any saves to make.

Second third, ODS sent in superstar Suria who threaded passes to open up the opponent defence. However, it took a while before the first goal came, courtesy of Osman.
Suria made it two nil with a stunning freekick over the wall.

Final third, Cheen Ming added the third goal with a brillant solo effort, beating the entire defence on his own before rounding the keeper and tapping the ball into an empty net.

Gary got the fourth goal, tapping in a rebound.

Liang Han is, slowly but surely, getting his feet back in the game.
Yet another goal from him this week.

Ken Wong should have opened his account, after some dazzling display of dribbling skills, and after a sweet one-two with Kee Yong, he has only the keeper to beat, but his lack of composure saw his shot going into the side netting.

Ken Wong was caught into action again soon after, somehow the "Love Ken campaign" found new energy in him. Feeding on a through ball, he raced 40metres towards goal. Once again with only the keeper and the goal at his mercy, he unselfishly squared the ball across the goal to Gary for a simple tap-in for this second of the day.

ODS went 4-0 within 30minutes of the game, a brace from Osman and Cheen Ming shows why they were both winners of the golden boot award winners.

A poor offside call by the referee resulted in a goal by the opponents.

In the second half, ODS played an extremely disciplined game, keeping the shape very well making it really hard for the opponents to penetrate through.

Even after the substitution of Mark Penu and Rosk, the defence was still solid at the back, particularly Chee Mun with his last ditch tackles and block that would eventually win him the Man of the Match.

Osman was brought on together with Leonard, with Osman trying to complete his hat trick.
But luck was not on his side.
During one swift counter attack, Gary was through on goal with only the keeper to beat. Osman raced down the left hoping that Gary would lay the ball to him. However, Gary claimed that he had no idea where Osman was coming from, thus he shot straight at the keeper. The rebound fell to his feet, and he shot the ball straight at the keeper again.

We Keat scored with a header, while Aidil added his name to the scoresheet as well after the keeper spilled the shot into his goal.

After a hat trick in the previous game, Osman added another 2 to take his tally to 5 for this season.

Former golden boot winner Liang Han claimed a goal after being plagued by injuries in the past year.

He scored the first of his 3 goals from the penalty spot after Leonard was tripped inside the box.

First game of the season, ODS were clearly out of form, out of fitness, and some, out of shape. Into the game, they were out of ideas.
Eventually, we were outplayed, outclassed, outwitted and outlasted.
Despite the appeal by some players for this to be a "pre-season friendly" or a warm-up game, the appeals were turned down, and we will stick to the tradition of the curtain riser of playing MOE in our first game of the season.

With a few chances in the opening, ODS was often let down by poor finishing.
We were caught a few times during the 1st 10minutes of the game, but slowly begin to show our dominance.

Kiren broke the deadlock with his fourth goal of the season.
Osman soon added our second, before Elango score with his double-tap.

Mark Teo was booked for his "questioning" on the referee's decision.

The first half ended with us being 3 up and conceding nothing.

During second half, ODS would continue with their performance from 1st half. There was switch play, distribution, triangle passing making opponents to chase for the ball.

There was few threatening moments from ODS, but again, finishing was less then lethal. Liang Han missing couple of chances...

Osman soon score which a well placed shot from a free kick.

We then concede one after a good break through from our young opponents.

With 21 players available on this day, choosing the first eleven was no easy task.
Perhaps, only Tony might say that ODS started with the strongest defence possible with him in the line-up.

ODS wasted plenty of chances to seal the game early on. No names shall be mentioned, and we're not going to blame the Panther or Andy Carroll for missing.
Kee Yong pulled off fantastic saves to deny the visitors.

Finally, with some display of great team work, Cheen Ming blazed his way down the left and squared the ball back into the six yard box for Vincent, and surely, he's not going to miss from that distance.

Tony, arguably the best defender still around in business, (and in case you have no idea, he claims to have an office in Geylang), made some last ditch tackle, stealing the ball from under the striker's balls in the nick of time to keep a clean sheet for the first half.

Second half saw an entirely different team except for the keeper Kee Yong.

ODS struggled initially. And with so many talented players in the field, it's just a matter of time before the goals start flowing in.

Liang Han, such a lethal striker when he's on form, raced for every ball despite his petite size. Even though his mind was not exactly on the game, in fact he was more concerned about waiting for a phone call from Catherine, (or was it Jessica or Susan), but anyway, he was the one who started it all.
His shot left the keeper gasping for air and his goal sparked a wild celebration on the touchline, with Osman and Tony leading some weird yet funky dance moves.

Contented with his performance, he made his way for Cheen Ming, for the Liverpool fan connection, I mean the SOTA power.

The opponents had some false hope after pulling back one goal when Kee Yong, perhaps his only mistake of the entire game, was poorly positioned and was beaten at his near post.

Cheen Ming would once again dance his way down the left, and cut the ball back for Leonard, the newly-wed who is back with a point to prove - that NOT all newly-wed guys play football with jelly-legs. Leonard unleashed a first time volley and the ball beat the keeper at the near post.

ODS started the game brightly, with very lifely movements, moving the ball and stretching the opponent's defence.
Within a few minutes of the game, 2 corners were already won.
During the second corner, the ball went to Elango, who controlled the ball beautifully and took a shot. The first attempt was blocked by the defender. The ball rebounded back to Elango and gifted him a second chance.
Elango made no mistake this time, powering the shot past the hapless keeper.

Vincent showed why he is nicknamed Andy Carroll, showing off his muscles and power.
He muscled off the defenders to feed the ball to the midfielders.
On one instant, he nodded the ball towards Faisal, who tried his luck from far, only for the ball to canon off the crossbar.
Vincent was quick to the rebound and finished off the fine move.

Liang Han needed 2 bites of a cherry, when he was gifted a glorious chance with only the keeper to beat.

We were unable to get into our tempo and there was not much action from both ends. Mark Teo score from shot outside the penalty box. Not long after, the opponent equalize.

Continuing our "form" from our 1st half , there was not much going forward and for even longer spell, saw the opponents attacking us consistently. Vincent missed an open goal. According to Kee Yong, the 2nd goal that we conceded via a header from a resulting free kick, he saw 4 white shirts (that is our opponents) all in the air going for the ball and all our red shirts one feets fully grounded. At the last second, a good cross from Cheen Ming from the right. Although Vincent got a touch to it, it went over the bar. Gary was waiting behind freely..who seem to be in a better position.

ODS suddenly come to live in the second half, especially Osman.

Osman opened the scoring with a thunderous shot just inside the box.

Next, Osman did his magic again, dancing around with the ball, inviting the defender to stick out his leg.
With that, Osman conveniently tripped over the defender to win a penalty which he buried home himself.

Osman tried to get his hat-trick, but he was given little space and could do no more.
With that, changes were made.
Hairy coming in for Mark Teo, Ken Wong in for Osman.

Ken Wong hammered the final nail into the coffin with a well taken goal, after some neat one-two passing involving Ken Wong, Melvin and Hairy.
With superb vision, Hairy slipped the ball through the defence and Ken Wong made no mistake in converting the chance.

One of ODS's best game this season.

ODS broke down the opponent's defence on many occasions, but failed to find the net.
But when Osman was brought down in the penalty box, it would signal the start of many goals to come.

Gary, who replaced Irwin in the first half, stood forward to take the spot kick.
He sent the keeper the wrong way to put ODS one nil up.

However a lapse of concentration at the back allowed the opponents to level the score.

Within minutes of the restart of the game, Cheen Ming delivered a defence splitting pass to Osman, who easily rounded the keeper to put ODS in the lead once again.

Yet another mistake, almost similar to the first, ODS failed to pick up the danger-man who evaded the challenges to level the score once again.

Cheen Ming showed his keen eye for goal that broke the opponents' hearts.
He single-handedly powered his way through, and smashed the ball past the hapless keeper at an extremely acute angle

Shortly after the start of the second half, Mark Teo was shown a yellow card for ranting at the referee.

But that did not dampen ODS's spirit and the mood to score goals.

Several chances were made.
Hairy went in for Osman, Ken Wong replaced Irwin.

Gary soon added to his tally, his second of the game after Hairy delivered a through pass to him between 2 defenders. 4-2

Cheen Ming made a clearance that seemed destined to go out.
But Ken Wong chased down the ball and managed to keep it in play.
He did well to skip pass the challenge of the defender and sent a low cross into Gary's path.

Gary volleyed, but keeper was well positioned to block the shot.
Mr Sng was the first to the rebound, but his tame shot was straight at the keeper.
Disappointed with his finishing, he replaced himself with Elango.

Gary would soon complete his hat trick and take his season tally to 15goals, when a move down the right with Cheen Ming sending in a low cross, this move is identical to the move by Ken Wong a few minutes ago, except that, this time, Gary found the back of the net.

To add on to the keeper's misery (he wasn't having a bad game, in fact, he made some fantastic saves, except ODS was really showing no mercy on this day), the keeper made a blunder and allowed Cheen Ming to score again.
Underestimating Cheen Ming's ~~madness~~ speed, he hesitated to clear a back pass to him, Cheen Ming tackled him right at the edge of the box, rounded the keeper, and walked the ball into goal.

Hairy would complete the rout with a sublime finish, a move that started from Ken Wong.
Ken Wong bended a cross past the defence and into Hairy's path.
Hairy's clever yet sneaky run evaded the opponents' offside trap.
He controlled the ball like the way Messi would, (from far, Hairy really look like MessY Messi) and with a dedicate chip, the keeper could do nothing except watch the ball float over him and into goal.

Vincent could have had a hat trick of his own, if only his finishing was as sleek as his control. Vincent missed at least 3glorious chances to add his name to the scoresheet.
Quoting Osman, "Vincent controlled the ball like a Brazilian, but finished like a Singaporean."

At the end of this game, Gary now has 15goals to his name, Osman 20. But leading the goal scorers chart is still Cheen (the Turbo) Ming.

On this day, Kee Yong was the talk of town.
He single-handedly saved the team, literally.

As ODS struggled to find the back of the net, after countless number of chances, ODS gave away a needless penalty when Mark Penu fell for an old trick, and tripped the striker in the box.

But Kee Yong was the hero, saving the penalty with only one hand.

Subsequently, he pulled off many fine saves to kept the opponents at bay.

Second half, Osman asked for 15minutes, and he took only 10minutes to score.

He came off for Liang Han.
Liang Han worked very hard, trying to get his name onto the scoresheet.
But he ended up clashing into the keeper a couple of times.
Another incident, Melvin slided to connect with the ball. As it appears as if the ball was rolling into goal, Liang Han was, unfortunately, rooted on the goal line. And he blocked the ball. The ball rolled safely into the keeper's arms, who was lying on the ground.
Liang Han then tried to kick the ball out of the keeper's hands, but the referee blew the whistle for a foul on the keeper.

Liang Han's last action was when he body-checked the keeper and sent him flying to the ground. Liang Han was shown the yellow card for his tackle.
With that, Liang Han was replaced by Kiran.

Kiran created an impact almost immediately, scoring after a few minutes.

Next change by ODS was to replace Cheen Ming with Ken Wong.
Ken Wong won a free kick on the left, after being slapped on the face by the opponent.
He took the free kick himself, kept the ball on target, but was well saved by the keeper.

Another free kick was won in the centre, about 25metres away from goal.
This time, Irwin stood forward to take the free kick.
He smashed the ball into the crossbar.

Kiran sealed the victory, when a through ball by Hairy (meant for Melvin actually) was received brilliantly by Kiran who rounded the keeper to slot the ball into the goal.

ODS was down by one goal within the first twenty minutes.
Belong long, they found themselves 2goals down.
Changes were made, Tony went off for Ken Wong.
Gary came in for the injured Matthew.

Almost immediately, the impact was felt.
Ken Wong going near, but scuffled his chance right in front of goal with a weak left foot shot.

ODS kept up the pressure with Liang Han and Gary having changes but were denied by the keeper.

ODS showed much character and team work, switching the ball around to create space for the strikers.
A good build up move saw Chee Mun flicked the ball into Gary's path who calmly volleyed the ball beyond the fully stretched keeper.

MOE came back, and beat ODS offside trap. The ball was cut back across goal for a simple tap-in.

Gary would pull one back for ODS once again.
This time, the play went through the center of the park.
Gary once again, with his well timed run, and his coolness, beat the keeper.

Towards the closing stages, Ken Wong had 2 chances to equalise for the team, but his volley from a cross by Gary was well saved by the keeper.
Another, he shook off his marker and beat the offside trap, but his header was too high.

The last action of the game, was during a corner.
Nasir, veteran of the MOE team, thought his header would surely go in having beaten Kee Yong.
But Ken Wong was well positioned on the goal line to make a good line clearance.

At that, the referee blew the full time whistle.

This is a game whereby we see the Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde version of ODS. Playing badly in one half and changed team in another.

Although we not sure if this is due to the over reliance on certain players or simply matter of bad decision making in the first half.

At half time, we found ourselves 2 goals down and was quite inefficient in our attacks.

2nd half, with the introduction of new players, we try to play harder but ended up 3 goals down [0-3] when Mattew couldn't contain his man.

Osman was constantly trying to get the team to play harder and not giving up. His overhead through ball to Aidil who cross it low for Liang Han to get our 1st goal.
[1-3].. perhaps there is some hope..

before long, Osman dribble his way into the box only to be hack down by the opponent and won us a penalty. He personally took it and sent the keeper the wrong way to score from the spot. [2-3]. Suddenly even more players begun to show more "life".

[Can't remember exactly which one is the 3rd goal and 4th goal.]
Mark Teo gave Osman a good through ball who controlled it brilliantly with his first touch and lob the ball over the keeper for the all important equalizer. [3-3]

Osman again try to dribble into the box and again was brought down in the area from a double footed tackle for our 2nd penalty of the game. It was well converted and we found ourselves in the lead for the first time of this game. [4-3] and having scored 4 goals within a span of around 20 minutes

The opponent almost equalized when they broke free on the right and looks threatening but Kee Yong came off his line with a good read and make the important save to ensure we are still in the lead.

Aidil was free on the right and deliver a short cross to Liang Han at the near post, who attempted a "power" header, only to find it go back to Aidil instead of directing it goal bound. At the very same instant, our Captain , Mr Sng laughed very very very loudly at the sidelines. :P

The whistle went off and yes, it was a good comeback but we could have won this game with an easier task....

Having suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of the doctors at the start of the season, ODS started the game very cautiously.
Contented to just keep the ball, without rushing the play, ODS enjoyed the lion share of the possession for large part of the first half.

ODS threatened on a few occasions but failed to convert.
Liang Han had a strong claim for penalty waved off by the referee when he was tripped in the penalty box.

But Liang Han did set up Cheen Ming for the first goal.
Feeding the ball into Cheen Ming's path, Cheen Ming draw first blood putting ODS up front.

ODS controlled the rest of the first half though the scoreline remained the same.

Second half saw much urgency from ODS, especially Irwin who was all over the place.
Aidil rarely put a wrong foot forward, hassaling in the centre of the park.

Irwin helped ODS into a 2goals comfortable lead when the keeper spilled a shot in front of Irwin.
Irwin graciously tapped the ball softly into goal.

Yang Song was denied his first goal earlier in the season when that particular goal went down as an own goal.
However, there was no denying him on this day.
A free kick from the left, he curled it sweetly into the top right corner where the keeper could do nothing about it.

The doctors did pull one back, but it was all too late.

According to sources from the Keeper, we concede a first goal when Mark Penu missed clearing a cross and the opponent was able to head into goal. [0-1]

Although we started the 2nd half with more urgency, 2 fine strikes from VJC boys into top corners respective quickly saw the score line increased to 1-4. Osman couldn't do much for these 2 good strikes.

At this point of time, the VJC boys were clearly trying to monkey ODS around and that got Aidil into a ball of fiery!

Aidil nipped the ball away from the opponent, which was collected by Hairy who released Cheen Ming down the left flank. He still had to burn the right back out before laying an accurate low cross for Liang Han to easily tap the ball into the goal. [2-4]

At this time, ODS was playing with more determination, example, seeing very hard tackles from our wingers Leonard and Cheen Ming. However a loose clearance from Aidil after excellent tackling from Rosk and Chee Mun saw the ball back to the opponent who sent a cross from our left and found a header at the far post for their fifth goal. [2-5]

We got our corner (heard from the sidelines from Tony that it is our first corner of the game). Another brillant delivery by Leonard found hairy who headed it for our 3rd goal. [3-5].

The VJC boys was feeling the heat as a late surge from ODS continued to press them. A cross found Mattew totally open only for him to blast the ball high and out over our fence!

Then the final whistle also went off.

A fine game indeed as the boys make us work for the game!

Playing under the flood lights, ODS found themselves away and on unfamiliar ground.
No more smooth artificial turf, and a much bigger pitch, ODS found much difficulties getting use to the terrain and adapting to a new style of play.

Often, the ball was not able to reach the strikers nor Cheen Ming.
And the opponents were quick to shut down any space.
However, ODS found a good chance to put themselves head from a penalty as a result of a handball.
Elango stepped up, but he blasted the ball high and wide, wasting a glorious chance.

ODS had a few more chances but failed to get the job done.

The opponents broke down ODS defence and they scored to put themselves ahead at half time.

Second half saw a total of 9goals, both sides creating very good chances.

ODS got the equaliser through Cheen Ming after he managed to squeeze his way through to shoot from a tight angle.

Vincent was then set up, but he still had a lot to do, having to muscles his way towards goal amidst pressure from 2 defenders. But he calmly scored by placing the ball under the keeper.

But a lapse in concentration allowed the opponents to score 2 quick successive goals to put themselves in the driving seat again.

Liang Han would level the game once again with some neat off the ball running into space to slot the ball home.

Opponents went ahead again, somehow.

Razi scored what seemed to be the winning goal.

With only a few minutes left in the game, it seems like ODS was going to win it.
But Irwin took a bit too long to control the ball, and refused to just simply clear it for a throw-in. He was ~~raped~~, I mean robbed of the ball. And the striker charged towards goal. The defenders forced him into a tight angle, thinking there was no chance for him to shoot. But he managed to squeeze a fierce shot in, and the ball went into goal off the post.

First goal of the game was very much of the usual blooper you would see on tv.
Ken Wong sent a long cross into the opponent's half. The defender collected the ball, and under no pressure, decided to pass the ball back to his keeper, but he didn't realise that his keeper had already stepped forward to collect the ball. Thus, the pass was beyond the keeper's reach, and it bounced into the goal.

Both side played a really disciplined game at the back and the keepers were rarely troubled.
Evergreen pulled level when there was some mis-communication between Kiran and Kumar. Kiran was showing the striker to the touchline and away from goal. And he instructed Kumar to stand on his line. Kumar, feeling safe to step forward (rare occasion) moved forward, and the striker cheekily chipped the ball over him from a very tight angle for the goal.

Osman showed that he's better at taking freekicks than penalties. 20yards away from goal, he curled the ball around the wall and into the top corner to put ODS ahead again.

Second half, Evergreen had a few chances but could not really trouble Kumar. Kumar was at his top performance on this day, denying all the goal bound chances.

Gary, a second half introduction, in his shining yellow boots, scored a brace to move himself up the goalscoring charts.

New partnerships and multiple miscommunications cost us dearly in the early first half and ODS soon found ourselves 1-3 down.

A concentration lapse saw from ODS defence saw us went down again 3-4.
According to Faizal, his outburst to the opponent key striker affected the player's game and it shut him off.

A corner for ODS was turned into goal when Irwin la scorpion kick somehow manage to direct the ball goal bound amid some help from Liang Han who shield a defender from clearing the ball. [4-4]

Osman receiving a ball down the flank turned his marker and then past the keeper to score fifth and winning goal [5-4]. Before this, he had an ugly kick at about the same spot, but send it wide and high.

Irwin has another chance to seal up the game when he was sent free but the ball went out for a corner when the last man caught up with him.

However, ODS found themselves behind after some lapse in concentration during a corner.

Vincent could not convert on a few occasions as well.

Gary was lively. Liang Han teamed up with Gary, setting him up to shoot.
Gary took the shot from an acute angle, and the ball went in off the post.
Gary has now scored in 4 consecutive matches.

ODS tried hard in search for the equaliser, but their efforts were in vain.
Even last man Kiran pushed up as a striker, but his beautiful header was saved by fully-stretched keeper.

The opponents barely had any shots or chances in the second half. But they sealed the game with a third goal, partly due to a poor offside decision by the referee. The inexperienced referee failed to spot an offside offense, which resulted in a soft goal.

Quick succession goals from Cheen Ming gifted him his hat trick within the first 15 mins of the game.

Opponent pulled one back when they headed in a free header from a corner as Vincent did not stick to his marker.

Liang Han could have score our fifth goal only to see his shot went pass the right goal post.

Liang Han was injured after 2nd half started briefly and had to be substituted by Hairy. Who had to play at his unfamiliar right mid position after Cheen Ming moved up front to partner Kiren.

Osman tried a shot from outside the box which was goal bound only to be deny by the goal post. Hairy headed in the rebound for ODS's fifth goal.

Osman then make it sixth with a well place goal before Cheen Ming round up the game with his fourth and the team seventh goal.

Generally bad performance from almost everyone on the field. Watching from the side, it like a Mono sound system. The only communications was from the opponent team. Think everyone has to learn to communicate more and help each other out. Our current younger player Ken Wong was quite totally destructed by their young boy...

The rest were also quite lost and all look lost especially after we went 2 goals down. By the time, the half time whistle was blown, we were down double the 2 goals.

The whole team all knew we have an uphill task, but somehow morale was not really affected by the half day results.

We pushed, we harassed, we helped each other out. There was more communications on the field i think. There was protection from midfield and the twin towers of ODS remains dangerous.

Osman begin the onset by getting our 1st goal through a header from a resulting corner. [1-4]

The team continue to respond with more enthusiasm and purpose. Osman freekick from 20 meters was saved by the keeper but Aidil was alert and followed it up brillantly by getting his first goal for this year! [2-4]

Liang Han scored the 3 goal [3-4] but i cannot recall, so i shall let him comment when he read this post.

By now, the opponent has lost most of their composure. The durian-flavored octopus complete our comeback aka Newcastle style by putting in the equalizer. [4-4]

Aidil received yellow card and Hairy soon joined in for a handball.

ODS continued to press for the winner, alas Gary went to strike the goal bar and a fight for the durian seed between twin towers (i think) saw the last chance of the game when Liang Han soft kick went pass the goal post..

First half was very much of a messy encounter. But the team from the first half worked very hard to tire the opponents out so that the second half team can have an easier game.

Second half, Cheen Ming orchestrated the whole game plan, by challenging the keeper for a 50-50 ball. The keeper fell awkwardly and injured himself in the process.

Cheen Ming then went on to score 2 goals against the replacement keeper.
He almost got a hat trick when his rocket shot hit the crossbar.

On first look at the starting line-up, it's like, "Are you serious? A bunch of uncles against a group of young men?"
ODS backline alone, including the keeper, the total age of 5 of them is about 230years old, that's about the total of the opponents entire team summed up together!!!

Initially, we looked to be like shooting ducks. But with vast experience under our feet, playing together like an unit once again, under the command of veteran Kiran, we showed the boys what it really means by playing soccer.

Kumar had a couple of shots to save. But the defense was fantastic, blocking every attack that came.

Liang Han was showing signs of a married man, when he gave up on chasing a slow ball that was rolling out. Surely, he has some excuses. Here's the comments that came from the bench, Prankster Osman said, "Tony, I think it's confirmed, it's official, you're faster than Liang Han!!!"
And someone else added in, "Confirmed he's a married man, he's showing signs of it."

Playing like a hungry pack of Wolves, ODS scored their first two goals from set pieces. Just like Wolves against Manchester United, ODS scored from 2 corners. First was Vincent towering over his opponents, they chose the wrong people to mark him, they allowed the shorter ones to mark him, BIG MISTAKE. Trademark loping header from Vincent to put ODS in the lead.

Next, another corner, Mark Penu finishing off yet another corner by Cheen Ming.
Powerful header into the back of the net, nothing the keeper can do about it.

Second half, we brought down the average age of ODS by bringing in Gary Ong, Aidil, Osman, We Keat and Ken Wong.

ODS were in control of the game but could not capitalise on it. Often, there were no one to finish off the moves, or at the end of the cross. Either that, or the opponents would make a last ditch tackle in desperation.

The opponents levelled the game with a good goal.

Ken Wong took a quick long throw-in, (he won the throw-in as well) down the line to Cheen Ming who sent the ball across the field to Osman. The defender tried to control the ball, but Osman was quick to rob him right at his feet. Keeper was fast off his line, but cunning Osman did a feint and fooled the keeper before rounding him and slotting the ball into the goal.

The opponents came back into the game once more, when a shot that came from the left.

Just when the game seemed destined for a draw, Cheen Ming stunned everyone with a powerful shot with the outside of his right foot from a free kick at the edge of the box. The low shot wheeze past the wall and into the side netting. The keeper stood rooted.

ODS made a couple of changes, bringing in Liang Han once again.

Liang Han could have sealed off the game with little time left, but he ran straight into the keeper in a one-on-one.

The poor keeper must have felt he has been knocked down by a bull. There was a strong call for penalty but the referee waved it away.

ODS held their nerves for another victory in another fantastic game.

This game took place on the 3rd day of the Lunar New Year, against a star-studded team.
Tempers flared. There were some wild tackles, but overall, the game was played in good spirit.

ODS has keeper Kee Yong to thank, as he showed with his safe-hands, saving a penalty with only one hand when ODS was leading 2-0. Of course, he saved many other shots that came his way, keeping the 2nd clean sheet for ODS and ensuring another victory for us.

Responding to the demands/requests for match reports, the reporter has gotten back to work.
But as the reporter was late, there will be no highlights of the first half, except that Tony conceded a very comical goal, almost similar to the one Robert Green conceded during the World Cup, or so I heard.
Perhaps Tony has been playing too much golf, and thinking too much of the "Green" and thus, got the "Green" butter fingers.

The restart of the game saw more urgency in ODS with Melvin, Cheen Ming and Osman throwing themselves in what ever challenge they can.
ODS managed to pull one back when a Cheen Ming managed to get ahead of his marker and convert a cross by Osman.

Mr Sng made changes to the team, bringing on Ken Wong for the tired Liang Han and Mark Penu for We Keat.
Ken Wong got himself involved almost immediately. He hassled the opponents and kept the pressure going.
During one occasion, he chased a back pass by the opponent to the keeper. The keeper, under pressure from Ken Wong, scuffled his clearance and the ball fell to Osman. But his shot was just over the crossbar.

Kiran should have equalized earlier. But his header, a cross by Melvin from the right, was inches over the crossbar.

Next, Ken Wong orchestrated the equalizer. He delivered a beautiful pin-point cross for Cheen Ming. Cheen Ming receiving the beautiful cross, brought it nearer to the penalty area and sent the ball across goal.
Kiran went racing in and scored at the far post.

Ken Wong sparked the winner, winning a header and directing it to Kiran. Kiran upon receiving the ball, nodded it into Cheen Ming's path. Cheen Ming used his speed, squeezing in between 2 defenders and slot the ball under the keeper.

Tempers start to flare. The referee had no choice but to flash 2 red cards to the opponent, 2 second yellow cards for wild and rash challenges, with the elbow showing and clearly no intention of going for the ball.
Ironically, Vincent was at the end of both challenges.

Ken Wong almost extend the lead when his shot from 25yards out was barely tip over by the keeper.

The game ended soon, but not before some drama, from our best leading actor Osman, who never fail to fool the referee with his dives. This time round, he appeared as if he was having a game of tug-of-war or rather, wrestling with number13 from the opponents. He held on to his arm, as if hugging it, in an attempt to stop a counter attack by the opponents. The referee spotted the foul, and blew the whistle. When Osman finally let go, number13 chose to retaliate by pushing Osman in the chest. But Osman went down covering his face, the same way you would if Mike Tyson threw a punch in your face.
The referee gave a disgusted look and gave the full time whistle. (I don't know the disgusted look was for the play-acting or for the violent conduct of the number13.)

Due to the long duration, reporter has forgotten how the first goal was scored.
However, the second goal is still fresh in my mind. Elango brilliantly controlled the ball in between his legs following a cross from the right.

This is the 3rd time ODS meet OVA this year, except this time, it is the OVA Combined, a mixture of youth, speed, experience and power, almost their best team possible.
OVA kicked off the game, doing very well in keeping possession of the ball in the initial 10minutes.

But their cool did not last long. ODS kept the pressure on OVA. Soon, OVA was forced to make half-hearted passes and Cheen Ming was quick to intercept on many occasions, but he failed to find the target.

Cheen Ming, however, did make the first contribution, when his frenzy run sent everyone wild. His cut-back to Liang Han was sweet, with Liang Han both calm and cool at the edge of the penalty area, he hooked the ball with the outside of his foot. The ball sailed through the air and just beyond the reach of the keeper. Liang Han marks his return from injury with a goal. But this is just the beginning for him.

ODS was soon brought back down to earth, with an extremely bad call by the referee. With the ball seemingly flying over everyone and seemed destined to go out for a goal kick, Tony's challenge appears normal, with just a little hustling. Yet the referee blow his whistle and pointed to the spot.

The OVA striker sent Denis the wrong way with his penalty.

Unhappy with the referee's decision, but as professional as ODS players, the protest was kept to a minimal and the game carried on.

ODS soon got back their lead, Cheen Ming the provider again, and Elango the scorer.
Cheen Ming crossed the ball to the far post and Elango put his head to good use, heading the ball down right in front of the keeper. The ball bounced over the keeper and into the back of the net.

The referee made a blunder again, this time, making a wrong offside call from the center of the field. He allowed play to carry on, when the player was clearly offside.
ODS defence failed to play to the whistle of the referee (or rather, missing whistle in this instance) and watched as the defence was broken and a goal conceded.

ODS could have killed off the game before half time, but countless number of chances missed and wastedmade life difficult for ourselves.

ODS lead was restored from a corner and Liang Han meeting the ball with a powerful header.

ODS further extend their lead, courtesy of Liang Han yet again.
After some neat passing movement, Cheen Ming was released down the wing and he squared the ball for Liang Han to complete his hat-trick with a tap in.

Game should have ended at this point and ODS should have controlled the game.
Yet they provided a lifeline to the opponents with an own goal.
Mark Teo and Kiran both went for the same ball from a corner. The ball spinned off Mark Teo's shin and shin and it caught Denis by surprise as he watches the ball float over his head into the net.

Things got worse when OVA equalised. A move that tricked Denis into thinking that he was going to cross the ball. Instead, he toe-poked the ball past Denis at the near post.

ODS called for a change immediately, replacing Denis with Kumar.

Kumar made his presence felt with a fantastic save from a freekick at the edge of the penalty box. Kiran was cautioned for that foul.

With both sides chasing for a winner, Cheen Ming turned on his magic again and pulled the rabbit out of the hat. Yet another counter attack, another cut back across goal. Elango did a dummy, Aidil was at the far post and pounced he did.

Cheen Ming was just not done yet.

Frustrated at his misses throughout the game, he finally got his name on the scoresheet with a fine solo effort, a low shot at the near post.

He brought the ball all the way down to the goal line before passing to Cheen Ming. Cheen Ming took a low shot which the keeper parried. Ken Wong was quick to respond and stabbed the ball in for the equaliser.

Cheen Ming round up the comeback with an individual effort. He won the ball in midfield before dribbling all the way into the penalty box. He saw the keeper poorly positioned, with a huge gap at the near post. With that, he slot the ball in at the near post to put ODS in the comfort zone.

From the starting line up of the opposition, it was clear that they came with a mission. Calling up some of their young players, including the captain and star of the OVA Junior Team, and also, with some of the key players of ODS missing, it looks like it's not going to be an easy game.

ODS was contented to just keep their shape from the start and hold their tackles. Both sides did not manage to find any loopholes in the defense, with Kiran at the top of his game, cutting out any through ball and heading away all the crosses.

ODS breakthrough finally came, when OVA took too long to clear the ball at the corner flag. The ball was won by Elango and Liang Han who tag-teamed to hassle and steal the ball from one of the brightest star on the field. The ball was sent into the danger area, but the clearance from OVA was poor. Mark Teo was there to receive the ball. Instead of a powerful shot, he chose for a low shot, placing it into the bottom right corner into the side netting.

After the restart, OVA tried to send a lot of cross behind our defense but that didn't trouble ODS one bit as Kiran was well positioned to cut out any dangers.
Except for one particular incident.
Kiran was calling for offside for a pass to OVA's muscular striker. Referee waved play on as the defense stood still while the striker turned and volleyed a powerful shot that hit Kumar's thigh and through his legs into goal.

Second half was much more quieter. Much of the game was played in the center of the park. ODS is pleased to see Mark Penu makes his comeback from an injury that took him out since Feb 2010.

Mark Penu played like as if he never left, continuing his great partnership with Mark Teo into midfield.

ODS got the lead once more, following a flick on by Mr Sng for Ken to race onto. Ken brought the ball down to the goal line and delivered a beautiful cross to the edge of the six-yard box where Liang Han did even better by raising above the defense to head the ball over the keeper into the goal.

OVA had a couple of chances to equalize, but Kumar was there to block out the shots.

ODS nearly extended their lead when Kiran orchestrated a counter attack by himself. Dribbling the ball out of danger from just outside the penalty box, he took it all the way by the touchline over to the other side of the field where he was unlucky when his shot cannoned off the crossbar.
Elango nearly got his legs to the rebound.
Kiran hurt his knees in the process.

Mr Sng earned himself a yellow card, his first in 40years, when he slided in from behind on an OVA player.

Game was uninteresting from that moment on, as ODS held on for a victory.

game started with our 2 strikers claiming injuries (yet both of them managed to put their names on the score sheets)

First goal game when Liang Han got to a free ball. The gk was rushing out to cover the space, only for Liang Han to chip it over the keeper before colliding into the keeper. [1-0]

Although it was before long when a counter attack from Gaza striker was on way towards goal only for Kiran (our MOM) to commit a foul on him and a penalty was awarded. Gaza send it to the left corner for the equalizer [1-1]

Turbo went down the right and send a low cross across the goal mouth for Elango to score easily(almost) for our second goal [2-1]

Although before the half was over, i think they equalized at 2-2 or was it shortly after the interval?

The 2nd half started where it left off, with both sides having the fair possession of the ball. Vincent and Yang Song was continuing what they have been doing since 1st half, to fight for the ball, although today's distribution was not so efficient often clamping the ball to one side of the game.

ODS was awarded an indirect free kick outside the penalty box, hairy released the ball down the right while Cheen Ming continued his run into the box and send a low cross to the left side for Sng to tap in for our 3rd goal [3-2]. The opponents were still trying to figure out what hit them.

We looked like we were heading for our win , only to be deny when Ref awarded a dubious penalty this time when Gaza striker (maybe his skill is as good as one of our own! hahaaa) was "brought down". This time while Kee Yong (who played well and definitely did not deserve to concede more than 1 goal today) went to the left, the same penalty taker send it to the right for the late equalizer. [3-3]

Game started with the opponent controlling much of the play. Against the play, Osman broke free on the left and into the box and was brought down by a tackle. The ref(who had a good game and finally one - for a long time who actually run from box to box) immediately pointed to the spot. Even though from the sidelines ODS was cheering for Tony to take the spot kick, he did not take it. Osman ~~the diver~~ took the penalty and send the ball into the bottom left corner with the goalie rooted. [1-0]

ODS was slowly getting into the game and getting more dangerous as the minutes ticks away. Kee Yong was not much troubled and had a few relatively simple saves.

Rosk and Hanz were both busy cutting out the through balls or clearing the danger away. Ken Wong was busy running up the field to support the attack(very fast), but was relatively slower in running back the field to support the defence(slower). Tony was at his usual, showing that age could perhaps not be a boundary for a good and consistent performance. Often doing his favorite trick to beat the opponent and getting himself free to push up higher.

Mark Teo was busy marshaling and supporting both the attack and helping out the defence. If i am not mistaken, he has a hand (maybe leg is more appropriate) in starting the move for 2 goals in this half.

Soon the 2nd goal came after Cheen Ming stole the ball from the feet from the defender, with the on-rushing keeper, he calmly lob the ball over the keeper with the outside of his right feet into an empty net for our 2nd goal [2-0]

I can only recall Dennis moving himself to the right back position, asking Ken Wong to push to right mid and then subsequently taking himself out of the game.

Ken almost got his 2nd goal for the season but his brief hesitation ended up into a save and the ball going out for a corner which ended up with nothing concrete.

Liang Han soon had to come out due to a spinning head... not sure why since he has cut down on drinking already ....so... in went Irwin. Actually it was supposed to be Aidil but he ran away to the toilet and the spinning head cannot tolerate anymore.

Soon, Elango also had sub himself out and Sng requested for Aidil again who conveniently pushed it to Mattew.

Ken was soon awarded for his run into the box when a cross from Osman found him at the far right post. This time, he surely can't missed from the distance. [3-0]

Guessed, this was indeed a tiring game because this is the 1st time i seen so many changes within the 1st half.

The second saw the opponent, pulling a goal back. A cross to our left and although the striker appears to be offside, whistle was not blown. Hairy try to run back and cover but the striker took the strike cleanly into the top left corner, leaving Kee Yong with no chance. [3-1]

There was a few chances down the left, although the final ball was missing. Chee Mun was making his presence felt with his challenges and tackles.

We Keat and Mattew were both trying to contain their midfield as the opponents seek to come back into the game. This time, Mattew were helping to support the defence while Keat was concentrating more on attacking - trying to make some intelligent through pass although they were often cut out by the experienced defenders.

Irwin and Aidil were not posing as much threats as our turbo and diver although they did have their moments - which were just moments, too short for me to remember.

Sng and Liang Han were both combining well on top showing understanding between them although nothing came out of it.

I forgotten how they score the 2nd goal but at 3-2 scoreline, ODS was feeling the pressure.

Hairy supported an attack and a ball to the left found him free. Crossing into the box with the ball ending up with Sng who took his chance and put the ball across the goal line. Although it was accordingly to Mr Octopus that a defender got a touch at the ball, sending it corner bound. However Mr Octopus(Liang Han) reacted first and somehow put the ball into the net (with his head i think, if it is indeed his head, i figured it must have stopped spinning) [4-2]

With a 2 goals cushion, ODS could breath better but still needed to find the important 3 goals cushion. A break down the right by Ken who send the ball across to Hairy who had time but instead he blasted the ball like he was playing the ruby game.

Tony then came in for Irwin, fitting back into his left back position and pushing Hairy up front but not for long because Hairy also had to be sub out as he was feeling tired. Irwin came in for him again.

ODS finally found the important 3rd cushion goal when Irwin put the ball into the net after a cross from the resulting corner found him free on the left side of the post. [5-2]

The game seems to be "longer" today but nothing more came from either side and this was the final score.

This week, somehow, we had the same referee from last week.
The weather was looking like as if it would break out into a thunderstorm anytime. But the game started still.

ODS started with their usual style of game, keeping possession with some neat passing and movements off the ball.

ODS very nearly got an early goal, but was unfortunate not to, when Irwin could not reach the ball which bounced across the goal in front of him.

The opponents seemed very uncomfortable dealing with corners, especially the keeper.
During one corner, the keeper got his palms to the ball, but could only push it to Osman, who would control the ball before laying it for We Keat to smash it into the goal for his first goal of the season.

That was the start of a series of goals to come.
Irwin did well chasing a ball that seems to be heading out. He cut it back where Liang Han was waiting to pounce, and pounced he did. Tapping the ball beyond the keeper's reach.

ODS third goal was scored by Cheen Ming, this time Liang Han the provider. Liang Han took on the defence single-handedly, before releasing a no-look pass to Cheen Ming who was running from behind. Close call for offside, but too bad for the opponents, Cheen Ming was clearly onside. Upon receiving the ball, there can be no room for mistake from him as he tucked it under the keeper.

The opponents finally got their game started, forcing a couple of corners.
During one corner, Rosk headed the ball out of the penalty box, but danger was not over yet. As the low shot came back in, Kee Yong somehow allowed the ball to slip through his hands and behind him into the goal. Rare mistake by Mr Safe-Hands.

The opponents probably thought that was the lifeline for them. Little do they know that it's the beginning of a nightmare.

ODS continued their world class display of skills, scoring successive quick goals from extremely fast and efficient counter attacks.
According to Osman, ODS made the ball travel 80metres within 4seconds and they end up in goals.

A long clearance, a couple of headers, the final header from Cheen Ming to Liang Han, releasing him and beating the offside trap. Liang Han lifted the ball over the keeper for his second goal of the match.

Next to add on to the opponent's misery was Osman. In yet another counter attack, Cheen Ming lay the ball back to Osman who took a beautiful shot which landed in the side netting.

Liang Han should have gotten his hat-trick, if not for some "heroics" from the defender. Cheen Ming did well to evade the tackles before cutting the ball into the six yard box for Liang Han. Liang Han was inches away from the ball, but made no contact, as the defender slide the ball into his own goal.

ODS got off to a roaring second half with an even better performance than the first half.

Cheen Ming got his second goal, after some neat passing, brilliant one-two that teared the defence apart.
The defence spliting pass came from Liang Han again, Cheen Ming got the job done as usual.

Irwin was replaced by Yang Song.

Liang Han was unlucky yet again. After receiving a pass from Aidil, he skipped past a couple of tackles, rounded the keeper but tripped over the ball. However as he fell, he managed to just kick the ball with the slightest of touches. As the ball trickles slowly towards goal, the defender thought he could stop the ball, the professional style by sliding. But all he managed was slide himself into the goal together with the ball. What he did manage to do was deny Liang Han his hat trick.

That was the last involvement by Liang Han as he was replaced by Ken Wong.

Cheen Ming got his hat trick, beating the offside trap once again, after a long kick by Kee Yong, Cheen Ming ran all the way from the halfway line, before firing a low shot past the keeper.

Osman got his brace, timing his run to perfection, following a freekick from inside ODS's own half by Vincent.
Osman got the ball under control, skipped past a defender and the keeper who came a long way out. He lobbed the ball into goal, and he made all that look simple.

Ken Wong completed the rout with his first goal of the season. Yang Song crossed the ball to Ken Wong, who controlled the ball before cutting inside of his marker and he finished it by placing the ball just inside of the near post.

Referee was super early. He even checked out the corner flags and nets.
However, opponents were late and game was delayed.

Game started with opponents having only ten men. ODS started their usual attacking football, but was unlucky not to get ahead early with Liang Han and Elango missing a few shots in front of goal.

ODS finally got the breakthrough when Ken Wong whipped in a cross that found Osman (trying out a new pair of boots) at the far post. Osman showed his world class skills by bringing the ball under control superbly and rounding the defender and keeper before slotting it into the goal.

The opponents got back into the game shortly, with a goal that had strong calls for an offside.
It started from a corner, and the ball was cleared just beyond the box. A shot was taken from outside the box, which Kee Yong did well to parry the shot. The rebound fell to another striker, who was in an offside position when the shot was taken. Referee failed to spot that, and awarded the goal.

ODS continued their fine form, Osman after beating a few defenders with his dribbling skills, sent in a low cross from the left, Elango did not disappoint us this time, scoring to put us ahead again.

ODS continued to punish the opponents with Liang Han using his physical strength to hold off his marker.
Ken Wong took a long throw-in deep into the penalty box, Liang Han did a simple flick on, Berg timed his run to perfection and did a simple tap-in for his first ever goal for ODS.

The opponents were threatening on the break, they were fast down the wings, and ODS were somewhat exposed. (Maybe because Tony is not around?)
ODS soon extended the lead even more. This time, the goal pretty comical. Ken Wong took another long throw-in right into the box. There was some confusion in the defence, and the defender wanted to clear the ball. But he striked the ball straight into Elango, and the ball rebounded into goal. Elango would claim the goal.

Next to get onto the scoresheet was Irwin. Liang Han did all the hardwork, his run and dribbling, and he was under pressure from his marker.
He had a heavy touch which pushed the ball slightly further away. Irwin went rushing in and slide the ball past the keeper.

ODS was under pressure with 3 consecutive corners. In the first two, ODS barely survived, with one fierce shot that cannoned off the post. In the third corner, there was some miscommunication between Kee Yong and Denis as they clashed into each other when they both went for the ball. The ball came straight from the corner and into the side netting.

Liang Han finally got his name on the scoresheet, with a perfectly timed run that beat the offisde trap following a freekick by Osman. He collected the ball, and neatly put it past the keeper.

Cheen Ming stole the ball after the opponents took the kickoff, before passing it to Kee Yong.Kee Yong wasted no time in lashing a shot towards goal that caught the keeper off guard. It was less than 30seconds on the clock.

Following the quick goal, the opponents tried to keep their footing and possession of the ball.

Kiran felt a slight pull on his right calf after about 5minutes into the game.
Off he went, and in came Ken Wong.

Opponents levelled. Cannot remember how the goal was scored though.

Ken Wong set up Cheen Ming with a long ball. Cheen Ming nicknamed Turbo, needs no ABS (unlike some cars that was recalled recently), as he raced onto the ball and took a low shot, only for the ball to go out after hitting the near post.

Cheen Ming was once again involved. He mesmerized the spectators with his dazzling display of dribbing skills into the box only to be hacked down by the keeper and defender. The loose ball fell to Irwin who calmly placed the ball through the pile of bodies lying on the ground into the back of the net. Credits to Cheen Ming for this goal.

At 3-1 up, ODS was more adventurous, resting Osman and Tony.

Cheen Ming was in the heart of all the action.
He set up Ken Wong shortly after the second half started, only for the shot to go narrowly wide.

ODS defence was under pressure, but the lack of experience and composure showed as our young opponents wasted a couple of great chances, blasting their shots high and wide from barely a few metres out.

Ken Wong soon was taken out for Osman.
Osman showed why he was called upon again.

When the keeper tried his fancy footwork on Osman, he was tackled, and the ball stolen right under his nose.
Easy tap-in for his brace.

Irwin took himself out for the man, Mr Sng.
Osman set up Mr Sng with a low cross across the six-yard box. Mr Sng slided the ball, together with himself into goal, completing his 1goal per game "mission".

Second half saw more short passes and movement.

Opponents spotted keeper Denis off his line and attempted a long shot that dipped just beyond Denis and beat him.

Opponents seemed to find hope that they can turn the game around.

Osman has more tricks up his sleeves.
Picking up a pass from midfield, he danced his way through the middle into the penalty box before placing the ball beyond the reach of the keeper into the back of the net.

Osman was in the midst of the action again.
Following a through ball by Hairy, he brought the ball under control and "invited" the challenge. He fell heavily to the ground and the referee awarded a penalty.
Under the encouragement of all the ODS players, Tony stood up and took the penalty.
He expertly placed a low shot to the keeper's right. Even though the keeper dived the right way, the penalty was so well taken that it was beyond the fingertips of the keeper and into the side netting.

A classic derby, as I would describe today's match. It is almost like the derby of Manchester, United against City, or derby of Merseyside, Liverpool versus Everton. Fiercely contested. Especially when Marine Sunday has never beaten ODS in the past ten years. The closest they ever came was a 3-3 draw in August 2009. They were leading 1-3 at half time only to have their hearts broken in the dying mintues of that match when ODS Gary got the late equaliser.

As such, it was no surprise with all the high flying tackles coming from all over the place, but mostly from Marine Sunday.

Cheen Meng was the victim of many such tackles. Aidil too, was caught in a two-footed sliding tackle, but to ODS horror, referee waved play on.

The opening stages were dull, both sides struggling to find the rhythm. Marine Sunday was more concerned with taking on player for player rather than playing football. ODS found space extremely limited, movement restricted, even our frontman Liang Han was often caught in a wrestling match more than anything else.

ODS had Kee Yong to thank for keeping shots out. ODS defence did well to force to the opponents to shoot from outside the box, which were merely routine for Kee Yong to keep the shots out.

Rosk has to get himself into the referee's book with a blatant handball. Yellow card for intentional handball, unsporting behaviour.
The opponent got one yellow for kicking the ball away after conceding a freekick.

Upfront, ODS was not having much luck either. The only good move in the first half came from Cheen Meng, a through ball found him shaking off the pesty defence and scoring from the near post. But the goal was ruled out for offside, much to ODS disgust, as it was clearly onside.

The match remained goalless at half time.

ODS made a few changes at half time, with "dangerman" Osman going in.
ODS started making use of the width, Aidil sending a few crosses from the right.

ODS could have scored much earlier if not for the heroics of Marine Sunday who made a few brilliant saves, including one reflex save that kept the ball out with the shot coming from only a metre away from goal.

ODS finally broke the deadlock, a cross coming from the right by Aidil, and Irwin providing the finishing touch. Irwin originally had wanted to control the ball, but the ball bounced off his boot studs and "caught the keeper off guard" as he can only watch the ball spin in the air over his head into the back of the net.

The game was almost called off when the opponents protested against a foul made by them. They got the ball, except that the tackle was from the back and they got the player together with the ball. The referee was challenged, and the game was nearly called off.

In a counter attack, after a few passes through the middle, Cheem Meng raced to the byline. Kiran sped all the way from defence and was anticipating the cross to come. Cheen Meng squared the ball across goal, and Kiran was inches away from reaching the ball as it rolled out for a goalkick.
From the sideline, it was suggested that perhaps Kiran was too slow. When you see Cheen Meng running towards the byline with the ball, you have to be ready at the far post. And Mr Sng showed how it should be done with the third goal of the game.
Kiran contested against the comment that he was too slow, claiming that he ran all the way from defence, only to be hit with another statement that it was his vision which was too slow. Ouch.

ODS made a couple of changes, Ken Wong going in for Chee Mun, Mr Sng for Irwin.

ODS then killed off the game with 2 quick goals.

A good move that started from the back.
Cheen Meng releasing Liang Han with a beautiful through ball. Keeper came off his line attempting to collect the ball, but Liang Han put in a strong challenge and the ball rolled to Osman who put the ball into the empty net.

Next, Cheen Meng was the director of the move again.
He stole the ball with his sneaky move, raced towards the byline and cut the ball across goal. Mr Sng, having read the move, was in the correct position for a simple tap-in.

ODS with the win already sealed, was concerned with keeping a clean sheet now. Defence worked extremely hard to keep the opponents at bay.
This is only our second clean sheet of the year.
A victory coming at the expense of rivals Marine Sunday who has been on a good form of late.

Till we meet again, we are still unbeaten.

Records are meant to be broken. And it seems like a lot of ODS previous records will be broken if they can maintain this current form.

And also, Kiran looks to have one hand on the "Best Striker Award" after his second hat-trick, twice in 2games, 2 consecutive games. And that is after bagging the "Best Defender Award" last season.

Today's goals were all contenders for goal of the season. First came after some fine moves. Mark Teo passing to Kiran, who cut back for Kim Chuan. Kim Chuan took a quick cross to Osman who came dashing in. He displayed excellent control with his first touch. He then lifted the ball dedicately over the on-rushing to open the floodgate for the day.

ODS defence looked slightly shaky with the unfamiliar pairing of Hans and Rosk.
A mis-communication between the 2 allowed a through ball to roll between and beyond them.
The striker calmly chose his spot and put it beyond Kee Yong.

Just when it appears like as if there was some form for the opponents, ODS scored 3 quick goals within the next 15minutes to tie up the game.

Osman was involved again, this time a long through ball that beat the defence and rolled its way into the path of Kiran who couldn't make any mistakes from that distance.

The opponents were already limited to long shots as their gameplan was no longer threatening. Kee Yong, however had to make some crunching saves from some fantastic shots. Kee Yong, having saved a long shot, initiated a quick counter-attack with a long throw to Osman who was camping at the halfway line. He continued to bring the ball forward, drawing defenders towards him in the process. He unselfishly laid the ball to Kiran. His first time shot was parried into the air by the keeper but he followed up with a header to score his second of the evening.

Kiran soon completed his hat-trick, his second in 2consecutive games.
Denis sent in a lobbing cross. And with his current hot form, everything Kiran touches turns into GOAL, even with his head. Fantastic header.

Kiran then took himself off for Aidil.
And Denis was involved again in the next highlight of the game. A heated argument with the opponent and referee over some elbow issue.

Tony rolled back the years with some overlapping runs and sliding tackles.
But his energy was soon used up and he took himself out for Chee Mun.

Following a long kick by Kee Yong, and a flick on by Osman, Kim Chuan dribbled towards goal down the centre. Osman ran down the left to support and Kim Chuan released him. Osman did well to round the keeper and set up Aidil by squaring to the right. Aidil didn't anticipate the ball to be played to him, perhaps he thought Osman would normally be selfish and go for goal himself. Thus, Aidil stood rooted on the spot and watched the ball go narrowly wide at the far post.

Shortly after the restart, ODS continued their goal scoring frenzy.

From a long throw by Mark Teo into the penalty box, and a flick on, Kim Chuan took a shot from the edge of the box. But his shot was denied by the crossbar.
Mr Sng was there at the right place to execute a sweet left-foot half volley to add to his 1goal per substitute appearance mission.

Mr Sng could have shot a few more, but he performed a very difficult arcobatic move in the air. His shot went wide of the target.
In another move, he was found free on the edge of the box by Osman. Mr Sng was too anxious and he took the shot too early. His shot was slightly too tame and was easily gathered by the keeper.

ODS pressed on for more goals and won a corner in the process. Kim Chuan took the corner. The ball was headed back to him by the defender, and his second cross found Irwin at the far post. Irwin scored his first goal of the season with a glancing header.

Mr Sng took himself off for Hairy who hardly has the chance to strike.

In a brilliant counter-attack, Osman drew the attention of all the defenders towards him and even the keeper had his eyes on him. He cut the ball across the goal perfectly for Hairy who had arces of space and time. With the keeper stranded and defenders far away from Hairy, Hairy did the unthinkable. The spectators were ready to cheer and celebrate but Hairy hit the crossbar from that near distance. It clearly shows he has something against Osman and wants to deny Osman an assist.

But soon, Hairy makes up for his earlier miss. Irwin brought the ball down with some neat moves and did a no-look pass to overlapping Chee Mun. Chee Mun wasted no time in releasing Hairy who ran from the halfway line all the way down. He then curled the ball round the keeper for his first of the season as well.

Clearly, the opponents were just waiting for the full time whistle.
But ODS still has a lot of tricks up their sleeves.

Osman racing down the left. Pulled the ball back, and sent a beautiful cross across the field to Irwin as the spectators watched in silence, totally mesmerised by the beauty of the cross and vision. (Osman insisted that I write this part in.)

Irwin after controlling the ball, whipped in a cross towards the far post where Hairy was waiting and he struck the ball into the roof of the net. His first brace in his ODS career.

ODS first clean sheet was a bonus, as it also involved a big victory. All due to some tight defending and discipline play.

Last season Best Defender was named in the starting line-up as a striker.
He immediately made his impact up front, crossing for Liang Han to power the ball in.

ODS second goal came, courtesy of another dazzle set of dribbling skills by Cheen Meng. He ran at least 20metres with the ball into the penalty area before curling the ball beyond the fingertips of the keeper.

Liang Han and Kiran partnership continued to flourish, as this time, it was Liang Han who was the provider, and Kiran heading into the net.

A few more quick counter attacks seemed threatening, but ODS was unlucky not to have extended the lead. Ken Wong crossing for Kiran, but Kiran's header was wide. Cheen Meng's corner found Kiran at the mouth of goal, but Kiran was greeted with a boot to his face.

In an unfortunate incident, Ken Wong got a nasty knock on his right knee which signalled the end of his actions for the day. It seems like he will be missed for a couple of weeks. Expected return date should be 20 Feb 2010, a day after he celebrate his 26th birthday.

Tony was called upon to replace at right back.
Almost immediately, Cheen Meng reminded us on why he's nicknamed Turbo, and laying the ball for Kiran to tap in.

ODS continued their display of fine attacking prowress. They should have gotten the 6th goal much earlier if Osman had not fooled around and tried to set up Mr Sng instead of going for the shot himself.

Osman then made amendments for himself, getting the sixth goal of the evening after some mixed up in the defences of the opponent.

Seventh goal came as a result of some neat passing and Osman setting up Mr Sng to tap in.

Mr Sng took himself off for Liang Han, who hinted Mr Sng that he won't be able to make it next Sat.
ODS should know what that means very well.

Osman then showed us the ugliest free kick, shooting horribly wide from 20metres out. The last time something like this happened, he made the excuse of the extra goal post behind. But this time round, there was no other goal post around. It should be interesting to see what excuse he can come up with this time.

After a one-two with Berd, Osman was through and he dribbled past another 2 defenders, rounded the keeper and put the ball into the empty net.

Osman continued his fine form, apart from that ugly freekick, and set up Liang Han for a simple tap-in.

Liang Han made way for Hairy who would try his luck in getting his name onto the scoresheet.

Osman next try to tee up Hairy, but Hairy failed to keep his shot on target.

In a fine counter attack, Tony was up there in the penalty area waiting, Osman has to trip over his own leg and miscue the final pass. There goes our great chance of a seafood feast.

In the dying mintues of the game, Osman was the man involved in the action again. His shot was going nowhere towards goal, and the defender blocked it, and the keeper parried it into his own net.
That would go down as an own goal.
But with such kind ODS committee, we would still award Osman with the assist for the goal.

ODS 1st chance came from Cheen Ming's good cross but with barely 1 meter and the whole goal post to himself, Elango miss the easy tap-in.

ODS's defence tried out man-marking today but apparently it wasn't too efficient as the wings were relatively exposed.

Not long later, MOE's crossed from ODS's left and scored the 1st goal of the game.

ODS increased the pressure and finally found their break, when a cross from Ken Wong found Mark Penu on the left who directed his header to the far right corner for the equalizer.

2nd half, ODS started brightly, with Gary Ong placing the ball nicely into the net but was ruled offside (appeared to be a wrong decision by the ref).

Before long, Gary again put the ball into the net after some neat 1-2 with Osman but again, he was ruled offside.

Osman was next to break free on the right before unselfishly laying the ball to on-coming Irwin but who finishing was almost Elango-styled-like except his hit the crossbar. (at this point of time at the sideline, our sponsor[printed at front of our jersey] - I shall not name who, was telling Elango that Irwin must have played too much golf, hence his leg is like his golf club doing the scoop).

Suddenly a quick break through the middle by MOE and ODS found themselves 1-2 down.

Our right side soon found themselves not coping well with MOE's left midfielder. Razif burst free and score!

Soon, almost the same burst of speed, saw Razif scoring his 2nd of the game

Osman then had a good chance but his shot was saved by the keeper's leg and the ball went out for a corner which resulted in nothing.

Osman pulled one goal back when some scrambling among the MOE's defence "knocked" the ball to his feet.

Against a group of much younger, fitter and more energetic opponents, ODS rely on their experience to match up to them.

Playing 5 men in the midfield with a lone striker ('cause Liang Han claimed he's tired, or maybe he's drunk), there was limited chance on goal, except for a few shots that the keeper pulled off with some fine saves.

Ken Wong was also very lively on this day, making a few exceptionally well passes and crosses, and an incredible sliding tackle in the middle of the field to stop a counter attack.

The much younger counterparts had restricted chances on goal but they got the luck that somehow put them in front.
With a hopeful cross into the penalty area, keeper claimed for it. Vincent made a little flick with the back of his head towards the keeper, but Denis somehow managed to miss it and allowed the ball to bounce past him. A striker was lurking and tap the ball into the net as Denis was scrambling back towards goal.

Somehow, ODS found themselves behind to a goal, against a team that they feel they certainly can take on.

ODS struggled to find their footing in this game, while the young keeper made some fine reflex saves to deny ODS.

ODS soon find themselves falling further behind. A cross came in from the left, and Ken Wong seemed destined to head the ball clear with Tony and a striker behind him.
However, at the eleventh hour, Denis came rushing out and seemed determined to punch/catch the ball. Ken Wong held back the striker and shield him from Denis. But to everyone's horror, Denis misses the ball completely and the ball dropped to a very surprised Tony who couldn't react except watch the ball bounced off his back into the empty net. Tony somehow got his name on the scoresheet, but there won't be any seafood feast for anyone.

Second half kicked off to a disaster for ODS. ODS allowed a speedy striker to show off his skills, dribbling his way from kick off to the edge of penalty area unchallenged and he finished the move off with an excellent shot.

Before ODS can really get themselves ready, the next blow came within a few minutes. The same striker punished ODS sloppy defending with yet another shot.

With tensions building up, and players losing their cool, especially when it seems the referee was protecting the opponents, Osman argued with the referee over a free kick and the position of the wall and earned himself a yellow card.

ODS got a consolation when Liang Han slided both the player and ball into the net following a Cheen Meng's pullback. But the goal would go down as an own goal as Liang Han did not make any contact with the ball.

First half saw one of the best possession play by ODS in the whole of this season.
Playing like Arsenal or even Barcelona, ODS took total control of the game and made the opponents chase shadows.

First goal came when Irwin broke loose down the right and sent a cross into the 6yards area. Liang Han went in strongly and put a big left foot in under intense pressure from his marker to put ODS in the lead.

Second goal was a sign of many more goals to come, when Liang Han was able to head in at the far post, totally unmarked, from a precise cross by Mark Penu.

Provider next turned scorer after great movements involving Osman and Liang Han allowed Mark Penu to race onto a through ball. Mark Penu was able to curl the ball in despite the acute angle.

In a move sparked off by Ken Wong, he lobbed the ball over the opponent to Elango, and continued his run down. He received the returned ball from Elango and held off the challenge from the defender before passing to Liang Han just inside the penalty area.
Liang Han next passed the ball to Osman who sent the ball back across the mouth of the goal where Elango was waiting. Elango who has been in fine form of late could make no mistake in finding the back of the net.

As ODS continued to control the pace of the ball, Osman terrorised the defenders with a sizzling display of footwork when he danced his way through. The keeper was shocked when he saw what resembles a knife cutting through butter, and stood rooted to his goal line. Osman finished up the job easily.

Second half provided much entertainment for the players sitting by the sidelines as they knew the job was done and they are more concerned with poking fun at their teammates who are on the pitch.

ODS had a few breaks but the finish was poor, Hairy shooting weakly at the keeper, Gary missing the goal completely from six yards.

The downside of a fantastic evening was when Hans went in with a two-footed challenge. The opponent, unable to keep his cool, kicked out at Hans, pushed him in the face and also spat at him when he got up. Hans was shown a yellow card for his dangerous tackle, and the opponent was sent off for violent conduct.

No more goal was scored in the second half.

ODS equalised after a long clearance by Ken Wong, 40metres forward. Anis was there to collect the ball, and he laid it across goal to Elango who took a first time shot and the ball went in off the far post.

Second half saw one of our strongest (if not already strongest) attacking line.

Within a few minutes of the second half, Cheen Meng cut the ball across goal for Gary who was looking for his 10th goal of the season, to equal his record from last season. However, from just 6yards out, Gary hits the post.
After the match, Gary insisted that I write this in the report, quoting Gary, "My 10th goal has got to be a spectacular one. Not some easy goals."

ODS 3rd goal was one that saw 4 of our finest players teaming up in a brilliant move. Cheen Meng crossed to Liang Han who controlled and brought down the ball before making a short pass to Gary who played a beautiful through ball for Osman racing down the left.
Osman converted it with a low shot.

4th goal was by Liang Han. Cheen Meng the provider. Liang Han muscled his way into the penalty area and was first to the ball and he tapped in at the far post.

First half saw a couple of missed chances.
Elango shot straight at the keeper after being put through by Osman.
Yang Song pulled his hamstring and was forced off the field. Aidil took over his place.
Kee Yong got exhausted and in came Gary.
Gary had a good shot on goal with his left foot after a beautiful feint. But keeper did even better to tip it onto the crossbar. Rebound fell to Elango, and with the goal at his mercy, he shot straight at the keeper who was stranded at the far post.
Later on, Elango was released again. He was one-on-one with the keeper but he scuffed his shot wide of the target. Which Mr Sng gave the instructions to him, "you should have dived!!! Just like me last week..."
Towards the end of the first half, Melvin got tired too and was replaced by Ken Wong.

Immediately after the kick off, Cheen Meng sprayed the ball down the left to a sprinting Osman. Osman crossed the ball to the far post where Ken Wong was heading. Ken Wong was unable to meet the ball cleaning and the ball got stuck under his leg. He then tried to cross to the far post from a tight angle, but the ball spinned out for a goal kick.

The opponent took a short goal kick to the defender. Cheen Meng went in for the challenge. The defender tried to shield the ball from Cheen Meng, but Cheen Meng still managed to steal the ball from him, he made it seemed as easy as taking candy from a baby.
He brought the ball to the byline and cut it back across goal to Mr Sng who was very composed and tucked it home.

Shortly after the restart, ODS won the ball and released Ken Wong on the right. Ken Wong went forward 30metres with the ball, and crossed to Mr Sng. The defender who was running back could only manged a weak header. The ball fell to Cheen Meng who needs no invitation to smash it from 30metres out. The ball cannoned into the top left corner.

Dennis was then replaced by Irwin. Ken Wong shifted down to right back with Irwin taking up right midfield.

Opponents were looking tired. And ODS was just getting started to find the rythm.

Cheen Meng continued to terrorise the opponents defence. While at the back, ODS defence did expectionally well to keep the opponents to only a few shots from range, which Kee Yong had no trouble with.

Cheen Meng showed his magic and dribbled his way from midfield to goal and slotted it coolly for his second.

Osman and Mr Sng made their exit and Elango and Melvin both were introduced again to try to add their names to the scoresheet. That also signifies the goal drought (6matches without a goal) of self-proclaimed "Ready to Score" ETOsman continues.

Cheen Meng having gotten 2goals to his name, played Santa Claus to ODS. He was constantly laying the ball for others to shoot. In an exact replay of Mr Sng's goal, Cheen Meng laid the ball across the goal to Elango. Only difference is that, Mr Sng scored, but Elango blasted the ball wide from 6yards!!!
And it happened not only once, but twice.

Next up was Chee Mun, exact same move, same position as Mr Sng and Elango. Chee Mun having ran up from his left back position, could make no mistake in tapping the ball into the goal. That would be his first goal of the season, and his first ever for ODS.

ODS continued to cheer Elango on. And tried to set him up. Ken Wong played a through ball down the right and Irwin was racing onto it. He crossed the ball beautifully to Elango at the near post. The ball seemed destined to hit Elango's head, but somehow, Elango closed his eyes and missed the ball completely!!! The keeper was delighted to catch it.

At this point, ODS seemed to have taken their foot off the pedal. A miscommunication between Mark Penu and Ken Wong gifted the opponents their only goal. The striker got past Ken Wong, but Mark Penu was there to cover him. Expecting Mark Penu to clear the ball, Ken Wong was flat-footed. But Mark Penu passed the ball out wide to space and was expecting Ken Wong to run and receive the ball. Instead, he was caught by surprise by that pass and an opponent picked it up and cross it to the far post. The striker headed the ball which squeezed in between Kee Yong and the goalpost.

ODS picked themselves up and got 2 more goals.

Cheen Meng setting up Melvin, who did a very cheeky back-flick to direct the ball past the keeper into the goal. The goal is Melvin's 3rd in 3games as a Guest Player.

Gary was extremely hardworking. And he has been a fine goal scoring form. He managed to keep that going, with a well taken shot just inside the penalty area. That took his total tally to 9 this season, 1 short of his total from last season.

The "first leg" of this match-up earlier in February 2009 saw ODS lose 1-0.
ODS looks to bounce back from last week humilating defeat, with Mark Penu and Hans returning as the centre pair in the heart of defence.

ODS started the game with a lot of fire. Gary missed a chance early on when Ken Wong delivered an in-swinging cross from the left over the defence. Gary latches onto the ball but his poor first touch kicked the ball over the line for a goal kick.

ODS continued their pressure. Liang Han spotted Gary's run down the right and gave a well-weighed ball into his path. Gary took the first time shot and put ODS in the lead.

The young opponents retaliated by increasing their tempo and the diagonal cross for their wingers to chase which created a lot of troubles for our fullbacks.

Soon, a bad decision by the referee, a ball which has already gone out of play, but the referee allowed play to go on, and a quick break by the opponents caught ODS defence very exposed. The speedy winger brought the ball to the byline before cutting it back across goal. The striker managed to use his speed to break loose of this marker Dennis to tap in at the far post.

Kumar kept us in the game with his big palms to stop a couple of shots.
Mark Penu and Hans functioned like a solid wall that stopped even flies from getting past them while Mark Teo marshalled the midfield and destroyed the opponent's rhythm.

According to some of ODS players who were sitting by the side during the second half, they claimed that the opponents, depsite being much younger, actually looked tired in the second half, presumably because the ODS players in the first half did very well to wear them out.

Within 5minutes of the restart, a long clearance from Hans found Liang Han who turned his marker and dedicately lifted the ball over the on-rushing keeper to put us back in the lead.

At this point, the opponents found it really hard to keep up to the pace of Cheen Meng the Turbo. His change of pace often left his marker chasing his shadow. He should have gotten his name on the scoresheet after beating the defence, but his shots are just inches wide of the post.

Liang Han put ODS in the driving seat with his second of the day. After a shot by Kee Yong, the ball was deflected to Liang Han who volleyed it into the roof of the net.

At 3-1 up, it should have been a routine for ODS to wrap up the game. But a series of misses punished ODS at the back. Liang Han and Mr Sng should have converted the chances when Cheen Meng's pass across goal found Liang Han, but Liang Han wants to play the gentleman and left the ball for Mr Sng who wasn't expecting the ball to reach him. This not only happened once, but twice, almost the same, just like a playback/replay.

Instead, the younger counterparts still has some tricks up their sleeves. They fought back well, first with a shot that just lobbed Dennis.

Next, another bad decision by the referee, Osman clearly kept the ball in play, but the referee awarded a throw-in to the opponents. Yet another counter attack, ODS defence were caught ball watching this time with no one wanting to go in for the challenge. The opponent was allowed time and space to pick his spot and a well taken shot beat Dennis yet again, this time at the top left corner.

The game was far from over.

This time, a weak header from Mark Penu gifted the ball back to the opponent. Next to come was a shot from 20yards out that caught Dennis off his line.

With that, Dennis took himself out of the game. In went Kee Yong into goal, while Melvin took his position in right midfield.

Mr Sng should have equalised for ODS when he rounded the keeper brilliantly following a through ball provided by Cheen Meng. However, with the goal at his mercy, he tripped and fell, and missed the shot. This left the bench screaming and shaking their heads in disbelief.

Ever so often, ODS needs a wake up call, a kick in their face before they turned on their style.
Cheen Meng provided the inspiration yet again. He showed why he should be considered a serious contender for player/midfielder of the year when he created the space and chance out of nothing, dribbling his way down the left before cutting the ball to the right.
Gary was there to turn it into goal for his second of the game and his eighth of the season.

Mr Sng would atone for his earlier miss when he provided the winner. A shot from Osman came off the post and Mr Sng was first to react to put the rebound into goal.
After the game, Mr Sng claimed that as a top striker, he anticipated the shot to come off the post, which is why he was first to react.

With barely a few minutes left on the clock, Liang Han and Mr Sng took their exit for Elango and Ken Wong.

Game ended soon after the change.

Being the first day of the fasting month, and under such hot weather, ODS's 5games unbeaten record looks to be under threat. And things were not made any easier with Hairy and Faisal playing for the opposite side.

ODS struggled to cope in the early stages with Faisal being the key man for the opponent and sending crosses from the middle down to the wings for the speedy wingers and strikers to chase.

MOE got the early lead when a cross came in from the right and the striker came in strongly across goal to head into the far post.

Immediately after conceding the goal, Dennis took himself out bringing in Chee Mun.

ODS won a freekick about 25yards out. Osman did well to curl the ball round the wall forcing the keeper to make a full stretch save.

Following that, Osman pulled himself to play a deeper role in central midfield with Elango as a lone striker and Kim Chuan on left midfield.

With Osman taking up a role that allows him to roam more freely in midfield, there were a few incidents that saw him up against his good friend Hairy. Hairy showed he was no pushover and was not ready to let Osman get past him, therefore there were a lot pushing, shoving, shirt tugging and "punching" involved.

Try as we may, ODS was time and again denied by the heroics of the MOE keeper.
MOE too, were finding it hard to extend their lead with Mark Penu and Hans marshalling at the heart of the defence. And Kee Yong was quick off his line to sweep all the through balls.

Soon, Tony couldn't cope with the pace of the game anymore, especially under the heat. He took his exit for Ken Wong.

Both sides fail to register any real attack worth mentioning for the rest of the half.

The introduction of Cheen Meng at half time added a different dimension to ODS game.
His pace and runs made life extremely difficult for MOE defenders, just ask Hairy.

However, a lapse in concentration at ODS defence allowed a through ball to be squeezed in between Ken Wong and Mark Penu for the striker to toe-poke the ball past Kee Yong.

The man who would inspire the comeback today was Cheen Meng.
He would initiate counter attacks, running that extra mile to give that option to pass to.

In one attack, he did a return pass to Yang Song, but Yang Song was not anticipating the ball to be played back to him. It seemed like a lost cause with everyone watching the ball roll towards the byline. But Cheen Meng gave chase and kept the ball in play. Not only that, he turned and delivered a cross into the six yards area with Dennis dashing in and meeting the ball with a fierce header that finally beat MOE keeper for the first time today.

Yang Soon was taken off for Irwin.

ODS should have equalised within a few minutes of Irwin coming on but his shot bounced off the far post.
Hairy was injured in the process when he went in for a challenge.

And having failed to convert the chances, ODS was punished.

MOE won a corner, and some poor man marking allowed the opponent to direct a free header into the back of the net.

At this stage, ODS's last roll of the dice was to bring in super sub Mr Sng in for Dennis.

ODS continued to battle hard at both ends of the field. But were unlucky not to have scored with Gary missing a volley.

Gary, however, would get his name on the scoresheet.
The move started when MOE cleared the ball from defence. Ken Wong got into a good position to head the ball down for Mark Teo who in turn sent the ball flying towards Kim Chuan. Kim Chuan crossed the ball in to Mr Sng.
Mr Sng shot at goal was blocked, but the ball fell to a delighted Gary who made no mistake this time scoring from six yards out.

Kee Yong pulled off some fine saves to keep ODS hopes alive.

Next, we have Kumar, who just recovered from an operation, replacing Kee Yong.
Kumar was called into action almost immediately when a couple of shots coming in from far that he did well to palm away.

ODS turned on the heat and applied more pressure on the attacks.
In a flowing move, that saw the ball switched from the left to the middle and attacking full back Ken Wong racing down the wings, Irwin released the ball to the right. Ken Wong upon receiving the ball, "bend it like Beckham (or BecKEN)" to the far post where Mr Sng executed a aecrobatic volley in the air that "lobbed" the keeper for the well deserved equaliser.

With that, Ken Wong made his way for Tony.
Shortly after that, Mr Sng came off and urged Elango to go in to find the winner.
But all Elango received was the full time whistle.

Following ODS TV appearance, spirits were flying high and all hyped up for the game. Early in the game, ODS seemed contented to just hold back and soak up the pressure. Against a veteran team with most of their players able to hold ball and control the game, ODS suffered a few scares early when opponent striker no.16 broke loose. Thankfully, ODS managed to escape.

ODS would draw first blood after Kim Chuan broke free from the defence following a through ball from Osman. Kim Chuan did no mistake in tucking home the ball.

Liang Han attempted a "Hand of God" when he threw his body into the keeper while challenging for a cross. However, Liang Han pretended to be injured and lied down on the field after that challenge.

ODS doubled the lead through on-fire Elango after Liang Han dummied Osman's low cross. Elango smashed the ball into the side netting. With that, he has taken his curent season goal tally to 7 and has overtaken Mr Sng on the goalscoring chart which puts a big smile on Elango's face.

At the other end, ODS had the post to thank when opponent speedy striker no.16 got past Mark Penu and fired a fierce shot past Kee Yong. But luckily, the ball hit the post and went out for a goal kick.

ODS then had a strong call for penalty waved off when Liang Han was brought down in the penalty area. Osman spotted Ken Wong racing down from deep on the right. Ken Wong upon receiving the ball, delivered a pinpoint cross into the penalty area for Liang Han. Liang Han controlled the ball on his first touch, and wanted to take a second touch to move into a better shooting position, but he was brought down harshly. However, the referee waved off the protest.

Second half saw a speedy partnership upfront in Mr Sng and Cheen Meng.
Against the aging and tired opponents, they barely had to get out of first gear to beat their markers for pace.
ODS had plenty of chances early on but the keeper made some heroics saves to deny Mr Sng.

ODS then made a tactical change, taking out Leslie and putting in Gary.
Gary made a statement by scoring with his first touch shooting first time from a cross from Cheen Meng.

The opponents pulled one back when ODS defence was beaten and the no.16 laid the ball across the goal for a simple tap-in by his team mate.

ODS made another change, Irwin going in for Osman.

Cheen Meng then showed everyone why he's nicknamed "TURBO" when he squeezed through 3 defenders and his acceleration made the opponents wishing they were at least 20years younger.
He then curled the ball past the keeper into the far post.

Liang Han is determined to get his name on the score sheet and he took out Dennis.
And Liang Han got his wish, and the penalty he had been asking for in the first half when he was hacked down from behind in the penalty area.
A limping Liang Han got up to take the penalty himself.
There is no way he is going to miss the penalty, sending the keeper the wrong way.

With his mission accomplished, Liang Han limped out of the pitch for "promising youngster" Ken Wong to try his luck at goal.

Mr Sng too took his exit for Kim Chuan.

Kim Chuan nearly added a second to his name but his shot was just slightly over the crossbar.

Chee Mun also had a shot on goal, after Ken Wong pulled the ball back into his path. But Chee Mun could only cuffled his shot wide.

Ken Wong then turned provider, after holding off immerse pressure from the defenders and spotting Gary free in the box. And he unselfishly squared the ball for Gary who couldn't be more thankful.
With that, Gary slotted the ball into the goal.

The final moments of the game saw Cheen Meng doing all the hard work, dribbling past a few defenders and getting down to the byline.
And he set up Ken Wong, who was timing his run to perfection to avoid getting caught offside, for a simple tap-in.

Man of match Liang Han got us the equalizer late in the game via a simple tap in after a 30meters run by our Mr new daddy aka turbo-Cheen Ming, this time the tap in was correct unlike his first during the first half. [4-4]

and Mr Sng (like the 1st half strikers) had 2-3 chances to wrap the game up, instead 2 shots went slightly wide although he had one uncharacteristic ugly shot which he should have put in comfortably usually when the cross from Liang Han(I think) presented Mr Sng at the far right end with the simplest tap-in, but Mr Sng returned the ball to the keeper - at the left :P

NB: We will be getting everyone details down and will be implementing a scheduled based "write our game report" plan once we have firm up. This is to ensure our reports has more variance and during editor's busy time (he's holding 2 jobs), those usual stand-ins being busy, we are able to have backup.

Marine Sunday came with vengeance in mind today. Having played with us for many years (9 years) and quite regularly within each year they know our players and system pretty well.

From the start, they did not give us much space and time on the ball, nonetheless we were still quite comfortable in our play.

The break came when Elango who up to this stage at a relatively quiet game scored from a simple tap-in via Liang Han’s cross from the right flank. [1-0] This seems to be put the game more alive. We had a few breaks through both left and right flanks but nothing meaningful came out of it.

Perhaps it was the scorching sun effect, our defence was not high up enough to help the attack – amid the more attacking minded Mark Penu was absent on this occasion. Mark Teo, Osman and Liang Han were all either closed down fast or double teamed. Quite often Ken Wong was free on the right but either he did not make full use of the empty space or the crosses lacking accuracy.

Although up to this time, we were playing comfortably and to our pace. Tony also look to be enjoying himself on the pitch and looks like time has gone backwards for him, playing like he was much younger!

However, within a span of 10 minutes of concentration lapse, no proper covering / communication in defence and more “thanks” to bad refereeing. Marine Sunday shocked ODS by pumping in 3 goals with that span of time. First was our failure to clear the ball out of defence, and the striker put the ball to the right bottom corner pass the outstretched hands of Kee Yong. Second was a save by Kee Yong but as the ball tickle passed our goal line and appear out-bound, however their striker whom Hanz did not see arrived earlier than Hanz to put the ball into the empty net. The 3rd goal was a lob over Kee Yong when referee claimed that No4 Hairy put the striker onside when he was merely trying to run back and help out because the whistle was not blown.

Our perfect record against them appear to be cracking, perhaps history may not repeat again afterall. Or was it like what Mark Teo has predicted that he's the jinx - because he also play for our opponents and when he play for them against us, they never win. Now that he play for us fully today, we will experience the curse?

We knew we have to get our early goal fast if we want to keep our record intact and we adopted a more offensive approach. This could be quite dangerous should we be caught unaware. Something we should be worried as the defence did not have a good first half. Once the game started, our worries also begins to fade away.

Kiam Meng seem to have shake off his injuries problems and looks more like his old self which Hairy termed as the Kallang Xia! During those days, he was so good that any balls that goes behind Hairy, before Hairy can fully turned back (that how’s slow his turn is how was Xia just too quick then?), Xia will be there to collect the ball. Hanz and Rosk now look more confident and comfortable with their occasional partnership. Chee Mun was enterprising in supporting the attack as well! Stand In keeper Mun kit also had a good game and we have him much to thanks for keeping us in the game with a few brilliant world class saves although I wished only the “style” could be nicer.

Irwin today also played like he was on red-hot form, hurdling past his tacklers much to the delight of his side-line fans, they were “fanning” him even hotter?! However today his passing were not quite up to his usual mark. Nonetheless it was still entertaining.

Mark Teo remained as our midfield general while Kee Yong was doing his bit to help in both attack and defence. Gary and Liang Han partnership looks reunited considering Gary has been on and off regularly(we can only wish he would only “on” more often then “off” reguarl), both posing problems for the opponents.

Our 2nd important goal finally came when Liang Han brought through the left from a down-the-flank ball. And we have to thanks their defender for putting in the 2nd goal for us when he scored the whole goal from Liang Han’s resulting cross. This put us back in the game. [2-3]

Soon Kiam Meng had to substitute himself out because his shin was injured (y? because he forget to put on his shin-guards, guys, Shin guards are important ok?) In go, Mr Sng. Gary move to central midfield role, Mark Teo moved to the right and Kee Yong moved to right defence.

Our game could have been over at after this, as there were 2 goal bound shots if not for the excellent work from our keeper Mun Kit, who made the seemingly impossible saves plausible. *clap clap and cheers from the side line*

Soon Gary found the net finally! And put us back on equal terms in the game. [3-3].

After this, Marine Sunday seemed to have lost their plot and became increasing frustrated. This clearly shown by at least 3-4 yellows cards given to their players for bad tackles. Liang Han found himself on the receiving end on one such occasion but also received his yellow card for “diving”. Osman also dived once or twice in the box but the referee decided not to believe his diving skills.

The best chance to win the game went to Mr Sng when a cross from Osman from the right to the left nearly for Mr Sng who would have put it in if not for a last minute deflection from the defender’s leg but nothing came out of this corner.

The whistle went off soon after, our record intact and Mark Teo’s self-thought jinx apparently not working.

P.S Do you think we banned this referee who is so lazy, wear the similar color as our opponent and only changed when we asked him to… Think he should pay us to let him referee our games

More importantly, this has to be in red.
After investigation, it was concluded that Mr O was not one of the two who paid the fine!

ODS were conned again after being informed that they would be facing a veteran team. End up, the opponents are only in their 20s at most. And to make things even more worrying, at kick off, ODS only had 9players. Thankfully, we managed to loan a few players from the NUS Medical Team who had an earlier game.

With enough players for kick-off, the game finally underway.

The opponents took the kick-off. But right from the start, ODS applied immerse pressure. The opponents lost the ball after only a few touches. And Daryl won the ball on the right and sprint down the flank.
What looks like a cross, the ball beats the keeper who failed to hold on to the ball and allowed it to drop behind him into the goal.

After the restart, ODS continued to apply the pressure from the top, with Liang Han and Ken Wong forcing the opponents to make mistakes and thus concede a corner to ODS on the right.
Kim Chuan went over to take the corner. An in-swinger to the far post where Liang Han made a diving header to connect with the ball (although it hit his shoulder instead)to put ODS 2goals up in less than 3minutes on the clock.

ODS continued to control the game, with Kee Yong not touching the ball, not even for a goal kick.

Kim Chuan and Liang Han terrorised the left flank with their bust of pace and strength.

In the next corner, again on the right, Kim Chuan went over to take it again.
But this time, it was Ken Wong who managed to escape his marker and got to the ball first and diverted the ball with a flicking header at the near post for his 2nd goal in as many matches.

With that, Daryl Lim, scorer of the first goal took his exit for another GP, William.

William and Ken Wong combined well to win another few corners on the right.
Kim Chuan, with his left foot, put in some good in-swinging crosses that troubled the keeper. Unfortunately, ODS was unable to extend the lead.

William and Chun Ci, both GP, took their leave for Chee Mun and Irwin respectively.

ODS next had a strong call for a penalty when Liang Han was brought down in the penalty area. However, the referee waved off the appeals for a penalty and gave a freekick on the edge of the box instead. The opponent was shown a yellow card for his 2-footed launch at Liang Han.

Ken Wong stepped up to take the freekick. He curled the ball over the wall. Just as the ball appears to be dipping in over the keeper. The keeper managed to barely tip the ball over the crossbar.

Ken Wong then came off for Hairy.

ODS attacks seem to be never ending. And Kee Yong only had to make just one save in the first half.

The opponents seemed to have a really good pep-talk during half time and they came back faster and stronger in the second half.

Tony was called upon to make a few good saves and Rosk and Mark Penu maintained a really good chemistry in the heart of defence. Therefore, even though the opponents had more chances at goal, a clean sheet still seem likely for ODS today.

Up front, Kee Yong was enjoying himself up front. During one counter attack, Kim Chuan played a beautiful through-ball for Kee Yong to race onto. Kee Yong took the ball first time and smashed it past the keeper to put the game beyond the opponent's reach.

ODS nearly scored another great goal, a move sparked off when Ken Wong won the ball in a tackle before running down towards goal. Liang Han was calling for the ball to be squared to him. Ken Wong did just that, feeding Liang Han at his feet. Liang Han then feed the ball to Irwin who was running behind him. Irwin side-stepped the ball to the far post and it seemed destined to be heading in but the keeper dived and made a full stretch save and pushed the ball out for a corner.

The game took a turn for some ugly scenes with Ken Wong earning a yellow card for a push on the opponent. Rosk also got his name in the referee's book for a late challenge. The worst of the evening was when the opponent tried to prevent keeper Tony from releasing which warrants a yellow card. And as he has already been booked for his tackle on Liang Han in the first half, he was shown a second yellow and the red card. Refusing to leave the pitch immediately, he had a heated debate with the referee and show the referee some nasty hand signals including a middle finger sign. On his way out, he even mouthed the "F word" at Tony which nearly spark a melee. Luckily, ODS players are matured enough to control their temper.

ODS failed to take advantage of the situation of having an additional man on the pitch and failed to score more goals.

With that, ODS recorded a huge win which suggests that the form is back.

Next week game is confirmed at 5pm at Victoria School.

After a long break due to H1N1, ODS finally returned to action with most of the players half fit, or carrying some niggling injuries. And to make matter worse, the opponents' average age is only about 28years old, with only 2 of their squad above 40.

In the beginning, ODS struggled to find their feet in the huge field covered by thick growth of grass. Thus, ODS soon fell behind to a counter attack from the opponents.
The striker twisted and turned, before setting his team mate up for a simple tap-in.

Shortly after the restart, Mark Penu answered to the call for the team to wake up. He took a long dipping shot from about 20metres out that beat the keeper.

ODS found the tempo that set them on a series of attacks. Crosses from the right, quick breaks on the left, penatration through the middle.

ODS then took the lead through Ken Wong after Osman did all the hardwork, and lay a simple ball between the legs of the defender for Ken Wong who was waiting right in front of goal for the easiest of tap-in.

Osman should have extended the lead, but after turning the defenders at least 3times, he failed to shoot on target.

He was in involved again when he squeezed the ball through the defence for Ken Wong to race onto. However, the keeper came out and prevented a clear shot. Ken Wong held off the pressure from the keeper and saw Kim Chuan waiting in the 6yards box. He tried to cross the ball to him, but the ball was not high enough and the towering defender headed the ball clear.

ODS failed to find the back of the net on a few more occasions.

Half Time

At half time, we had our first casualty in Gary Ong, who had backache even before he kicked the ball.

ODS continued the second half playing a very cautious game.

ODS extended the lead when Kim Chuan crossed the ball for Osman who was waiting at the far post to tap in.

ODS seemed to have gotten complacent after scoring the 3rd goal.

The opponents pulled the gap back after the striker wriggled his way through ODS defence and shoot past Kee Yong.

ODS failed to picked up the tempo which resulted in the opponents scoring a beautiful overhead kick for the equaliser.

Encouraged by the equaliser, the opponents dominated the game from this point on.
If not for the heroics of Kee Yong, ODS would already have conceded at least another 3goals.

Faisal scored the winning goal with a low shot at the near post, almost similar to the one he scored in the KL game.

ODS riding on a streak of undefeatness for 8 games.. although from the start, this was not apparent. More then often, ODS looks weary and hardly threaten.

The 1st real chance went to hairy when he intercepted a weak goal kick but with the open goal and keeper out of position, he should have gone for a direct shot rather than the off-target lob.

The young opponents often make use of their pace and fitness to create problems.

The stalemate was broke finally when Denis failed to hold on to a ball when he called for it. With the mess up, he gifted them the only goal of the 1st half.

ODS started the second half in a frenzy, desperately trying to get the equalizer. First chance came when Liang Han ran after the ball on the right and crossing well into the far post of the opponent only for Irwin to get his head under the ball and sending it over the crossbar. Then a corner from the left found Mark Penu stooping low to head the ball all alone in the six yard box only for him to hit the crossbar and out. Cheen Meng also had a couple of fierce shots stopped by the keeper after ‘turbo-ing’ past their defenders. Finally, another corner from the right by Yang Song came a little behind Gary who did well to adjust his body to half-volley into the roof of the net. For a player with no international experience, he has done well to score two goals in two games.

After the equalizer there were a few substitutions. Mr Sng came in for Liang Han. Hans for Ros and James for Seah. ODS did well to defend against the opponent’s speed and aerial prowess.

Then came the moment of madness from Dennis who pressed his self-destruct button. After saving a fine shot from the opponent, Dennis ran and threw the ball to James - who was not facing the ball - all the while shouting ‘Mark! Mark!’ James only realized that the ball was thrown was onto his direction when he saw the speedy left mid speeding towards him. By then it was too late as the winger pushed the ball past James, put in a cross and their forward finished it brilliantly with an angled header which left Dennis no chance. The game ended ODS in defeat and Dennis blaming the earth and the moon for his actions. All I saw was an atomic bomb in boots, gloves and a bright orange jersey going off between the goal-post.

Against a team who has never beaten ODS in the past 10years, and which has been enjoying a 10 games winning streak (before this), everyone was all hyped up and ready to keep the record going. Veteran Tony was especially excited about the match.

The first 5minutes had plenty of actions, with ODS pouring down the crosses from both left and right. ODS had already won at least 3corners, showing the attacking prowress. But poor finishing kept Marine Sunday alive for a moment, just a moment.

It wasn't long before Mark Penu broke the deadlock. A freekick just beyond the halfway line from Hanz found Mark Penu, whose header into the far post was just enough to beat the poorly positioned keeper.

Tony was soon taken off, with Cheen Ming going in, pushing Irwin down to right back as part of an early tactical move.

Marine Sunday was really struggling to live with ODS. Cheen Ming and Osman, right and left respectively proved too much for the overworked defence of Marine Sunday. Even talisman Mark Teo, who was playing for Marine Sunday on this day did not see much of the ball, as his teammates were all over the park and did not seem to recognise each other.

Cheen Ming would add his name to the scoresheet following brilliant movements through the middle before the ball was released to him when he was racing down the right flank. He took his chance well and converted with a low shot.

Kee Yong was hardly tested up to this point, and his few actions of the evening was probably to pick up horribly wide shots and goal kicks. However, he failed to keep a clean sheet as a cross from Marine Sunday caught the defence ball watching. The ball went beyond Irwin, but not the striker who was waiting at the far post. He took the "gift" heading past Kee Yong totally unchallenged.

A glimpse of hope for Marine Sunday?
But ODS had other plans. Kee Yong was taken off, with Tony going in between the posts. (Tony claimed that ODS was so strict that Kee Yong was taken off because he conceded the goal.)

Tony was caught into action almost immediately, a through ball sent the striker running towards goal. But Tony was quick off his feet, and dived down to save the low shot, not once, but twice, including the rebound.

Tony was subsequently beaten however. The shot came from outside the box, Tony stood rooted to the spot as he watched the ball wheezed over his head. Tony had his lucky stars to thank, as he was smiling as the ball cannoned off the crossbar for a goal kick.

Second half saw ODS defence worked really hard, throwing their bodies in for every tackles and to block every possible shot.
Hanz, our makeshift keeper did really well, marshalling the defence, coming off his line and taking his time to pick up the ball, (perhaps he stays in a very safe area where there's NO crime rate!!! ODS joke of the KL trip).
Hanz almost made a few pointblank saves that seemed goalbound.

It was only a matter of time before ODS extend the lead.

Osman was once again involved in the action, having beaten the defence and with only the keeper to beat, he somehow shoot straight at the keeper, which resulted in some of his teammates calling him Andy Cole after the game as he needed 3chances to score 1goal. Luckily for ODS, the rebound fell to Gary who would happily tuck home for ODS third goal.

The nightmare for Marine Sunday keeper was far from over, in fact, it was just beginning.

He failed to handle what seemed to be a soft cross. Perhaps he thought it was really that easy, that he tried to bring it down with one hand. But he somehow dropped the ball right in front of Osman, right in front of the goal. And there's no way Osman will waste or miss a chance like this. All Osman did was simply stuck his foot out and toe-poked the ball past the poor keeper.

Marine Sunday had no reply to ODS and continue to let ODS run the show. A clearance by ODS seems to poise no danger or threat to Marine Sunday, that is until Cheen Ming turned on his turbo and chased for the ball. Marine Sunday defenders could only watch as Cheen Ming took the ball past them, or perhaps Cheen Ming was so fast until they did not even manage to see him going beyond them.
The keeper came off his line to cover the angle, but his own defender collided into him. With both of them lying on the ground staring at each other, Cheen Ming unselfishly laid the ball for Mr Sng to complete the riot.

With victory well assured, ODS made a few daring changes.
Osman came off for Liang Han.
Tony came in for Mr Sng.
Defensive rocks Mark Penu and Rosk were taken off, with Hairy and Irwin replacing them at the back.

Irwin and Hairy would push the defence line up so high until Hairy was standing next to Aidil, who was the defensive midfielder.

Hairy, who probably felt the game was becoming too one-sided that he decided to add some excitment into the game.
Ken Wong won the ball near the halfway line and had to hold off the Marine Sunday midfielder who was shoving from behind. As a few more Marine Sunday players closing in, he spotted Hairy free in the middle. He made the pass to Hairy.
Hairy had all the time in the world to control the ball, and as he moved towards the ball in slow motion, just as he reached the ball, he made a beautiful dummy. One that fooled everyone, including his own team mates!!!

The striker pounced on the ball but his finishing was poor and Hanz easily picked up the ball.

ODS would have a few more attacks but failed to add to the tally.
With that, ODS maintained their 100% record against Marine Sunday.
